After some testing I have 2 reasons why guts is getting bugged
The problem is either saber alter stun causing him to get bugged
Or a member from the game leaving causing the server to crash
I also think when the cutscene doesn't play it causes this too.
not 100% sure on that yet
In order to reproduce the bug you have to place guts in the middle of the map and either wait for saber alter boss to use her stun on your units, join the game on an alt and leave when saber alter boss spawns so either leave at wave 10,20,30 but the bug has happened to me from the wave 20 boss. Lastly get into a game where the cutscene doesnt occur and test.

I think that newsman, when applying the bubble effect, prevents the bleed effect from being applied
