there are a couple things to consider when thinking of including MC's in limited events like these:
- could a full update be made of the source material? and if so, would a full update made of the source material even generate enough hype to succeed as an update?
- if it's a particular form of a main character that wouldnt be necessary to make a part of an update based on the source material, its fine to include in a limited banner (shinra banshoman, madoka are good examples here. you dont need their most powerful forms ever to make good units of them in the future)

Gils and Enkidu is a hybrid unit
Enkdiu side:

great stun and slow support based on a anchoring mechanic.

summons based on gils status (won’t elaborate) and can sometimes share range with those summons on the track
To sum it up Enkidu is a certified Summon dps/CC support
Gil side:

Builds up dmg/resources overtime, which can lead to huge burst of dmg though releasing stored up resources or by building cannons around the map(refer to uruk in babylona and the giant ass wall)

and support summons by making them take less dmg + other benefits based on his treasury
Main unique factor? Combined effort ability that allows them to combine certain effects or clash them
Weakness? Who knows mabye its the fact that if you want to unlock the dos it takes a bit to build up and micro manage

Pretty much select units would get alt forms, that you can switch between in the lobby and in game but specific requirements must be met, and to unlock said alt forms you must unlock it as if you were evolving a unit.
An example being Jeanne and Jalter, Corrupt Jeanne with Sakura mid game and she becomes Jalter
