Its funny since the original vanguard for the concept was yoriichi, and I had people ask me who he was 🥀

going back to your points at the top, vanguards literally are team based for the most part, sure they can exist on their own, but their strongest states are in a team... broly, ainz, rukia (technically), and alucard are all examples of this, and they're the most recent vanguards

1. Yorichi is more known fs especially with the upcoming movie, as he was on the poll for anniv unit choice and a good portion of people chose him
2. Who you think is more hype is subjective, but yor I would say is generally more hyped, they literally fought and yor annihilated him, and muzans whole purpose is being a terrible person whos also dislikable
3. I would disagree, muzans kit is extremely basic and would be hard to do, it’s literally just flesh manipulation which is mid? Yor has more to go off like stw and ss +13th forms. One of muzans biggest critiques in the ds communities is how bland his powers are.
4. Maybe I phrased it wrong, but this is exactly what I mean, another team based vanguard would be bland and repetitive, the last real solo vanguard we had was escanor, and more variety is better in my opinion and probably in the devs eyes.

i do agree with 4 but the game is built as a team game, you can't really have a super strong vanguard thats not in a team, escanor is a rare example that does work really well, but that's the only real way you could do something like that without making it broken (like 15m dps would be required along with a ton of other stuff to make yoriichi a solo vanguard thats better than alucard's dot team)

also escanor is really only good in casual content

little bit late to this but while yoriichi is very known and op, muzans powers being kinda basic compared to everyone else’s is a valid point, now me personally i think if yall wanna meet in the middle kokushibo is the medium between the 2, muzan was scared of him, but he also has a unique and very cool breathing style that only he uses, on top of him just looking sick as hell

plus i’ve made a post about having him as a vanguard and tbh he fits the game perfectly, that’s my opinion though, i don’t know if you every considered him as an option, but i think you could cook up a kokusbibo design probably better than i did, your posts are all really good so id imagine if you wanted to look over mine and make a version for that as well you’d probably cook pretty hard i’d imagine flex, ofc im not forcing you to but just adding onto your great idea :) hope that’s alright
