Im gonna disagree because the massive and detailed maps are a large stylistic component of the game that also gives greater immersion into the atmosphere of the stage being completed.

I mean, "wasted time and effort" really isn't much of a point when the mapmaking is never a bottleneck and has no bearing on anything else because the guy that makes the maps isn't coding units too or anything KEK

@mental raptor the same person does not build the maps, model the units and code the game so spending more time of maps doesn't take away from any other areas of the games creation
there are no "wasted time and resources" and updates don't take longer because of maps being detailed or large
sizes of maps do not contribute to lag and often times lag in maps can be due to enemy models
