its a per person job
each person has their role and they dont take over or do other peoples task
map makers makes the map
if they make the map finish it and others arent done then what for example
they could make it better its always about passion
you cant just lump tasks that are obviously designated to different people in the team into 1 category
i hear what u trynna say
but it takes up in game assets
and its just straight up useless
im not trying to insult their passion or anything im just trynna say its useless to make a map that large which takes up extra space in the game assets which can contribute to in game lag
Im gonna disagree because the massive and detailed maps are a large stylistic component of the game that also gives greater immersion into the atmosphere of the stage being completed.
Im getting pleasure just looking onto them
fair i guess
never let to change them to maps like in als
well i guess u do have a good point in the maps making it more immersive
It's not so much about massive maps, but about poor optimization.
Yoruichi effect on Attack 1 still not being fixed
After enabling visual effects with her
u getting like 10 fps
i rly hope they dont give up on the game like aa devs
i get 20 fps on av bcs of the maps
and on smaller maps i get normal 80 fps
Here is Low Detail mode
try it
and try graphic 1
real bro
the latest legend stage map is massive for no reason lol
i still liked it
nothing changed bc of MAP IS MASSIVE
acting like you even interact or care about the map
is just like cid raid, most part of the map are useless and unnecessary
i care about the map. Why u thinking that everything should be INTERACTIVE? How stylistic component of the game? Or u gonna be happy to see just a path on a Roblox Studio basic plate?

Meh
the map would have had a nice impact and more people would have liked how detailed and big it was
if it was a popular anime map instead

but still the map isnt really that laggy for me
the most laggy map so far for me was shibuya underground
that map is so unoptimized for such a tiny map
I mean, "wasted time and effort" really isn't much of a point when the mapmaking is never a bottleneck and has no bearing on anything else because the guy that makes the maps isn't coding units too or anything
Like the maps just look really nice, and it's nice to have actually expansive maps sometimes, it ain't that deep
aw hell nah auric himself is showin up to the suggestion
i apologize if i was just fucking wrong LOL
@mental raptor the same person does not build the maps, model the units and code the game so spending more time of maps doesn't take away from any other areas of the games creation
there are no "wasted time and resources" and updates don't take longer because of maps being detailed or large
sizes of maps do not contribute to lag and often times lag in maps can be due to enemy models
well ty for the info i didnt think of it from that angle
it seems alot of the people enjoy the large aspect of the map
well difference in opiniion i guess anyways like i said at the start the maps look amazing
L glaze
think whatever u want
i specified at the start that the maps look great and it just felt impractical to me
learning how to read can be a great advantage in life
It's practical if the mapmaker feels like making them look nice
As long as they're optimized and they aren't bottlenecking update progress
fair point
well anyways since its fairly obvious that everyone loves the large aspect of maps and since auric has clarified my main concerns i dont have any more reasons to keep this suggestion open
I like it BIG
instead of optimizing map
i think they should try to find a way to optimize enemies
specifically enemies models
cough
#1382196962564116580
cough
i agree with this but not cuz its wasted effort but cuz it makes the game way too laggy
guilty gear map literally tanks my fps whereas the fate or jjk map is perfectly fine
do you actually know the size difference between the GG map and most other game maps
its absolutely massive
yea ik
the enemies definitely play a part but the maps are mostly the issue i think
It's not
The maps are super optimized, they really aren't that much of an impact in game
ive literally tested the difference in fps between the cid raid and guilty gear map
