Basically how it would work is that reaching x amount of intensity (past 2000) would allow you to guarantee x amount of the desired shard from your pulls when you do eventually cash out. this would incentivize going to higher intensities since the current best method after milestones is just going to 1k and cashing out. I could see this being too similar to milestones but it would fix the problem with doing runs and getting almost none of the shards you want

Odyssey intensity "pity"

No
The entire idea was to make people not feel like they have to minmax their runs just to grind a "specific shard" or something
You get them as you get them, if you want efficiency, you go to 1k
2nd++ time I get nothing but corruption shards
Honestly just make the loot not RNG, it's already RNG getting the familiar, RNG rolling good stats and element stats on it, RNG to get a good corruption, and RNG for that corruption to be good
There's legitimately no reason for the rewards to be this sucky
Though pity isn't really needed, they just have to make Corruption Shards not be at a 60% chance
Lower it to 1-5% at best, they are completely useless
what is even the point of going above 1k in this case is my question

its fair to say that it shouldn't be required to go above 1k
If you want, really
I mean yeah
you're legit stabbing yourself in the foot by playing more
that just seems stupid to say even
I was kinda trying to plan around the 1k intensity benchmark
Not really?
You can do it with just 1 unit, just do 4-6 on 0 intensity stages and you're good to go
Also how are you playing for an hour and getting only 7 pulls 😭
idk if you're gonna get to 2k with ts
i sometimes fail the 2k intensity room if i get unlucky enough with 4 monarchs
I died, Uryu decided that the mohato clone is not a boss, not the strongest, not the weakest, nothing, so i had no way to target but "Closest"...
1k's really only bad if you don't have your stun immune units and/or get shafted on a stage
Yeah
which is why i think it makes sense for it to be atleast 10% more rewarding
Kinda the point with the exponential scaling
But modifier income is a lot lower than it was in limitless
not only do i have to kinda lock in for 2k+, you need to get good rng, have insane units, yada yada
so it being fully pointless doesnt sit well with me
I don't want to force people to go for long runs just to be efficient for their farming
The only two ways to get high intensity both require way more effort, yet both are unrewarding
(grinding on lower intensity or doing big brain strats)
Because people will want to minmax their farming
And going to 1k and cashing out is good enough for that
its legit ONLY the sweats doing ts
who else is going for birbs
It should at least be equal though, besides, get further = get more rewards just makes sense
going to 1k should be a solid strat, but people who can go to say 3k should maybe get like atleast 10% more rewards
thats why original paragon was actually good in terms of rewards
once you got to a high enough paragon, the gems were actually worth your effort, but with odyssey its the opposite
Originally
I wanted to make it so that every 1k intensity gave you +1 pull per room clear
I dunno why that never made it in
original paragon was kinda too insane but yeah atleast it was semi worth going to even crazy high floors
That would have been pretty nice for my 8 hour run
aw hell nah
that would have been nice
That's the only way I can really see longer runs being more rewarding
issue with odyssey rn is that its a mode that you only really should bother with if you're trying to fully minmax your account, and even from that point its very very rng based, tedious and monotonous past your 2nd run
But the problem is that you get to a point where you assemble the exodia modifiers and can just breeze through 3k intensity and are now farming pulls faster than intensity would for no real input beyond paying attention and continuing to go
That's kinda the entire design point behind odyssey though
It's optional content for the purposes of minmaxing familiars
all fun and games till you get a dd ls3 stage at 3k intensity
i mean
no offense but
a gamemode that only appeals to like 1% of the playerbase and is still not liked by those people?

1% may even be more generous to how big the sweat commuinity is
I'd like to see another person who almost got to 10 hours on Odyssey like me for sure...
Like come on, at that point you dedicated your whole day to it, make it rewarding
like i got my 3 100+ dark spirits and 3 good birbs and i never ever wanna touch this mode again
everytime i saw the key of babylon appear in shop i genuinely wanted to wake the entire neighbourhood up
Oh actually
hear me out
I know that Intensity 0 and -100 were put in so even weaker players can at least do the weekly rewards
But of course, this means that we can't really increase rewards too much at higher intensities since people could, like you said, stop at a certain intensity and continue farming power endlessly
Which is why I'd say, above the weekly reward intensity threshold, you should only be offered cards if you pick +100 or more
Removing the options at a certain point, you think?
Yes precisely
While it would make it more RNG, it would remove making it super meta
Kinda like a "You're going off the deep end now" kinda thing
Yea, taking the safety wheel off
There's no going back to 0/-100
If you got that far anyways
I think if I made it so that every 1k intensity gave +1 pull
Then the cutoff point would be reaching 3k
Because if you hit 2k and just keep picking 0, you're still farming about as efficiently as going to 1k and quitting
So it's not a big deal
but once you'd hit 3k, you'd be earning a lot of pulls but could die at a moment's notice if you get unlucky
Yessssss hohoho
that's actually one of the things I have planned
I have a whole list of things I still wanna get changed
in all fairness, at first I thought having shop refresh every stage was gonna be way too strong
Does that mean every floor or like, every time the stage changes? (mb maybe its called "act" in this game)
But then I realized that you get FUCKED on your "modifier:intensity" ratio that limitless already had
yeah
mhm
especially because most modifiers are obsolete
I dunno if you noticed anything about the sneak but

Some of them are alright
A cutscene-less shop with shops resetting every floor, holy shit that would be so nice...
But a couple of them are hot dogshit
some are pretty absurd
delicate flower is like better than every mythic other than unstoppable force imo
Thinking I might axe the cost decrease in half and give the other half to limit break
buff all the tomes also!!
Delicate flower is absurd but new painful gains is really strong too if you can actually manipulate it
Tome buffs are on the list too
thank you
I wanna make them scale with intensity
is medusa ability getting changed or nah
Actually can you make it so Tomes are a separate item
So you don't feel like you lost out on a Modifier card whenever you get one?
1 Tome per shop..!
i think the gilg key could maybe be an insta kill on the dd ls3 statues and mahito in shibuya maybe?

Should I turn this into a post? Since you're already thinking of it, only thing we would achieve by making a post is get the community's opinion, since you're already planting the seed in the devs minds anyway
Maybe
I mean I'm already adding stuff to the list
Some of it is just hypothetical changes
But a lot also isn't priority since they're working on 6.0 still
Hmm makes sense
I guess I'll make one, since I could add stuff like this too
I think if you want to, there's no harm in making a thread for it.
But I get a feeling that other people joining in might offer some terrible ideas too
Inevitable lmao
Wouldn't be called gems if they were more common than dirt
am I the only here who thinks pity makes no sense? I mean what's wrong with switching up the rates?
and hypnotically lets say they do decide to add pity, what's stopping them from making it achievable through the higher floors to get this so-called pity?
I mean, corruptions are 20%, and the other two shards are 15%
will pvp include the new shards?
Can't say
I can't be this unluckyyyy
Over 20-30 corr shards from one of my longest runs, with only about 7-8 elemental and phoenix shards
lets be real this game isnt adding any kind of actual pity
This is your penance for reminding us of the challenge cap

TRUE
sitting at 60 corruption shards rn
just randomly rolling on padorus i have from 2 months ago at this point
Same I'm on 64 right now
Its taken me 40+ Cid Raid runs to get a Birb, so needless to say I'm never gonna run out of Corruption Shards, ever
@brittle veldt Can you tell the devs to fix limit break?
