CATEGORY - IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Access to full roster
HOW
Players during the draft should have access to the full roster of available units. This does not mean that players have access to units they do not have.

WHY LIKE THIS
The other systems I have described in this post largely remove any issues with any one particular unit being universally good, and it is important to allow the players to have freedom in gameplay, as creativity is what makes a game fun.
Seasonal pools of unobtainable units for everyone to have available
HOW
A rotating selection of ~ 3 to 5 unobtainable units will be available on the roster for all players depending on the PVP season, regardless if they have obtained them regularly in the game or not. This system will not be present in ranked.

WHY LIKE THIS
With the suggestion above being said, giving players, especially new ones, an opportunity to tinker with units they would otherwise not have is a great way to make the mode fun.
Static values for familiars in PVP
HOW
All familiars should have a predetermined static value when in use during pvp. I have no comment on if randomly rolled familiars should be allowed in ranked.
WHY LIKE THIS
Familiar rng mechanics and familiar balancing in its current state will make it VERY frustrating to deal with god rolls.
Chess Elo System for Ranked
HOW
Ranked should use the chess rating system or some close derivative for PVP ranked.
WHY LIKE THIS
The system is provably fair and ideal for the 1v1 environment in PVP. There is no needed for engagement optimized rating systems or otherwise overly complex rating systems.
