#Some things the devs can do that may help the game

Hey I just wanted to throw out my ideas onto a list to hopefully have it be seen and either criticized or possibly implemented into the game/community

  1. Dev communication and Behavior

I think the interviews they do are amazing because they usually put the current state of the game into perspective. Devs should be more open on the discord server because that’s where most of the discourse and public opinion is hosted. Polls, announcements, update logs, etc can really help calm the community and I just don’t think there’s enough of them especially during the horrible launch of 1.5. We should know what bugs are being worked on and what concerns (like Dandadan units being weaker first week or so) are being addressed so we don’t sit in the dark for days and weeks making the players feel like we aren’t being heard. Comments from some devs also reflect very poorly on the whole team I understand that they’re jokes but you can’t have a dev saying that the people who got scammed at the start of 1.5 don’t really matter because they’re trying to “p2w” and it doesn’t help nothing has been done about it since. The community is very volatile and it’s best that all Devs and mods conduct themselves professionally when it comes to serious issues.

  1. Quantity over Quality

There seems to be a lot of unrest about the lack of content in the game. This may be controversial because I don’t fully agree with it either but maybe we should have a few patches that are like what other game like AA had and it just be new stage + like 4 units. It’ll fill out the story modes so people have more levels to play and more units to pull on. I’m sure some would have specific evo quest etc so it’ll give people something to grind while you make your more unique updates. I won’t die on this hill because I enjoy gamemodes like the Dandadan event but for some players and the health of the game it may be needed every once in a while.

  1. Unit balancing

There’s a lot of people who get upset when new units aren’t meta but realistically some units won’t and shouldn’t be. Updates that bring permanent banner units should be the ones shaking the meta, events like Dandadan should never be truly meta defining.
Events like these are for mainly collectors and fans of the series you get the units because you’re a fan of the series and/or want the cosmetics. Limited units being op can cause problems especially for the future the safest place for a majority of them to be is good-mid. There will ofc be exceptions to the rule and that’s fine but people wanting all the Dandadan units to be meta or the update is pointless is a little silly. This also applies to tourny/LB units but in all honesty they should be worse than event ones even they’re trophies for achieving high placements and nothing more. Vanguard units can be good but if you give them abilities that are important like slow/freeze/rewind/stun etc, there should be a farmable or banner unit that can compete with them for that role. Diavolo is very powerful for long runs due to his strong slow so we should get a unit in the coming updates either from bp, banner, etc that can slow so you don’t need the impossible unit.

  1. Bug testing/Launch quality

The updates you add can be pretty good and fun but first impressions matter a LOT, and when the patch drops unplayable or ruining parts of the game like quest tons of people will instantly leave and write off the update. I am not a dev I don’t know what it’s like under the hood but you should have trusted individuals bug testing the game. I like the seamless updates yall have been doing so I can instantly get into the update but at this rate an hour or 2 of downtime may be needed to have smoother launches people will (or at least should) be okay waiting a little longer if when it actually comes out it’s in a playable state.

  1. The community
Roblox is a kids game so I kind of expected the community to be a bit toxic. But I don’t want the Dev team to use that as an excuse to brush off legit criticism and feedback. The kids spamming “AA WILL KILL THE GAME” don’t care about this game’s longevity or health and should be ignored for the time being. There’s a lot of people like me who have played both AV and AA and can give better insight into if patches are moving the game into a good direction. There are tons of people who love this game and want to support it the best we can so I hope Devs continue to engage, read feedback, and try to do what best for the players. There’s a lot of work to be done on the game and I hope the good voices of the community can be elevated and their ideas be executed on.

This is what I could think of rn some of these have been talked about a lot but no harm in putting it out there more. I may add more in the future or create new post on different ideas I may have in the future. If I’m out of touch or dumb feel free to lmk what you think in the comments I’ll pop in every once in a while to debate/discuss ideas.

they're already focusing on content over quality
Please watch the interview video before adding on dumb takes

mint pond
#

we shouldn't have some powercreep per update? if you don't do that then you're just asking for the flame on the devs

#

okarun is literally in the top 3 best boss killers with monarch
so is diavolo

# mint pond the devs are doing a lot of communication....
  1. They’ve been doing more recently and I’m thankful for that but I’m mainly concerned about another 1.5 incidents happening again. Thankfully they fixed most of the bugs and compensated the toji ppl quickly but going like a week with no info after 1.5 and no official comment about the pity bug from day 1 is concerning and I hope they handle future events with more grace

  2. I understand they addressed it in the interview but the polls skews otherwise, I’m mainly stating that here because even with people voting for more unique gameplay instead of stages it may not be the best for the long run

  3. My main concern with unit balancing is the pressure the community puts on having every update being the new meta along with super rare units like vanguards being prevalent in the meta. TLDR most exclusive units shouldn’t be super meta because of their rarity and that they won’t be accessible in the future banner units should be the majority of the strongest units like gojo etc. along with vanguard units having easier to obtain counterparts if the vanguard has an ability that currently isn’t available to most people the only other slow I can think of besides diavolo is alligator and we both know who’s the better pick for LB

#

These are ideas that have been festering in my brain from even before 1.75’s drop so I may have some outdated takes because I’ve only recently gained access to suggestions

# ionic crest i think itll be update 3 or 4.

I could see that, honestly I don’t want them to rush to get there as soon as possible because one of the things that will be good for the economy is having a decent chunk of time from when the units where obtainable

#

tldr please

#

dev communication can definitely bette (like they announced the update and rengoku being removed like 2 hours before launch 💀)

#

yes some slop needs to be added to fill in the gaps between larger content drops but larger drops should always be prioritized and dev time towards intermediate updates should not take away from dev focus on big updates

#

unit balancing in this game in general is shit because unit power still boils down to mainly aoe size and dps

they need to add additional mechanics to how units function in an ecosystem (like elemental reactions, loadout resonances, more unit synergies) to add multiple avenues to make a unit strong instead of a stale meta where damage reigns king

#

totally agree with launch quality

#

they need more discord staff and testers to filter out bad actors but yes devs should be SHOWING that they are taking feedback from the community. we can assume that they read posts, but having devs send messages and having convos in posts makes it seem like peoples voices are being listened to

#

interview quality has been meh, they dont really address any important questions

#

the two pressing issues are the unit balancing ecosystem and update transparency

#

theres no quick fix to unit balancing as op suggests, it will take a lot more than deciding who is meta and who isnt

icy mesa
#

there is however a simple fix to not releasing upd information 2 hrs before launch

# icy vigil i feel like having meta event/limited units should stay in the game, problems ar...

I can see that and that’s my main issue with diavolo as explained in the post. I have no issue with powerful or meta units being exclusive but the way the game is cranking them out non stop to have enough for trading im worried it may tip the balance of power. My worries mainly stem from the community’s violent reaction to the Dandadan units they needed a buff but a vocal group wanted all of them to be meta (or at least it felt that way)

#

I understand my post is pretty wordy I’m not the greatest at communicating my ideas usually if I have the time later I’ll think about doing a TLDR

# mint pond that'll ruin the surprise

🤦‍♂️ its in an interview it shouldnt be a surprise

devs shouldnt be making it inconvenient to get informaiton on the upcoming update

its the reason why so many greenies are misinformed

and other than that they gave no specific insight into what they are doing

#

"they cant ruin the surprise and give other games the opportunity to copy content"

as if

  1. other games dont have the opportunity to copy the game when the updates go live

  2. other games would bother to copy the updates with how poorly they have been received

sudden glade
#

why does everyone want these lame ahh mini updates

sudden bramble
# sudden glade adding some units and a stage is NOT saving the game 😭

I’m not trying to “save the game” it’s just ideas that may make it better all AA was units and stages and people love that game. Adding more story content for people to do will help because it’ll give them a goal - to complete the story so thy can do the legend stages for evos and secrets, to unlock more paragon and infs for LBs, and to get gems/quest items for beating levels

#

a update thats just units and a stage is lowkey just terrible

sudden glade
#

still the same gameplay where nothing changes

#

if anything you get like 30 minutes of enjoyment out of it

sudden bramble
#

That’s pretty much what update 1.0 was and that’s pretty much the best update the game has had. Make a couple units with a stage and add more quality of life

sudden glade
#

literally just spent hours in infinite getting fingers for gojo

#

that wouldnt have happened if gojo was just a regular evolution

#

and i wouldnt say i "enjoyed" those hours of infinite

#

just hope and pray they actually follow up on the balance of quality and quantity instead of wanting either or

#

the lack of one just makes a bad update/game

sudden bramble
#

All these ATD games are and have been (at least from what I’ve played) are massive time killers you grind to get stronger to do harder content or make grinding easier

sudden bramble
sudden glade
#

a grind doesnt have to be boring

#

1.0 was literally just your average infinite except a boss has a drop that you can use outside the infinite now

sudden bramble
#

I still consider it the best because it added importance QOL and the units where strong/worth farming so even if fingers where a pain it was rewarding. The new stage was nice and added a new paragon (aka more free rr every reset) and as someone who likes doing infs it was nice having a new stage to play on

Could u vote for mine ?

#

It’s below this one

#

At this point the people complaining about quantity are gonna be mad regardless of if AV does either just a raid or a innovative game mode like the dandadan infinite. The devs even made a poll asking for more stages or new game modes and literally majority of people me included chose new game modes lol.

farming for an rng drop in infinite in an anime td game is a fate i wouldnt wish on my worst enemies

devs should be good with the community

#

don't lock channel every little inconvenience

#

or a long cooldown chat

#

it will look bad at yal as a community

its seems like you guys can't handle criticism
