If the unit does over X amount of dmg it counts as a takedown

Something around 30-50%

Its so that if you put some of your worse units on the field and they do damage they can also get takedowns :)

Look add up all of my sjw take downs, its gonna be more than the ones showed in total takedowns place

Yeah I know. Thats because some of the SJW will assist the other ones. and so theyll both get the takedown

So every now and again 1 technical takedown on the side. will count for two on the units

Cuz of the assist
