I've helped manage a small wiki project before - a good wiki is able to balance its own informative content with additional sources

As far as I can see, you currently want to make sure users don't need to "leave the wiki" to get what they want - this is not a good mindset

You have a source here that is a) already credited and b) will be continuously up-to-date without your intervention

It is ultimately your call, but I suggest you take a moment to rethink how you're structuring this

there are 3 types of japanese characters
katakana, hiragana, and kanji
for the purposes for this tutorial, kanji is not very useful. This is because kanji has thousands of characters that don't lend themselves well for spelling, and you end up needing to learn a whole language to use kanji

katakana and hiragana on the other hand are syllabary. This means you can spell out sounds which is more analogous to english

#

Out of those 2, katakana tends to be more reliable. This is because foreign concepts and name are often spelt out using the katakana system rather than hiragana

In terms of translating, I like implicit translations the best. Find a fragment vaguely related to the word that you want and sometimes it will translate to English. More experimentation needs to be done with interactions with quoted English. The translation type words sometimes work too, but not always.

In relation to most relevant alphabets, other stuff < hiragana < katakana
Katakana Unicode is based on row, then column.
So イ is before カ

You can sometimes mix hiragana and katakana if you need to

The main issue with "the chromatic" tech is the length of the element, which can limit how much extra stuff I can append to it without the element becoming a dead element (not going over 30 characters). For that reason, the "hi " tech and even "hi Mr." tech are superior options to "the chromatic" tech.

Any specific instances where you would use "the chromatic" tech to get a specific element?

One thing I'm interested in doing in the future is modernizing the community save file, now that I'm familiar enough with the old school JSON file format to make edits to it. A quick glance at the community save file shows that there are a few elements over 30 characters in length. Since they are dead elements, they make the most sense to be targetted for removal in my goal to modernize the save file.

There are other elements I'd like to add to the community save file, such as more string.appends/prepends/deletes/formats, more seq.appends, and other potential tech elements. "the chromatic" tech is also potentially being considered for removal based on it being completely obsolete, and maybe other elements if they are completely obsoleted by other tech.

An idea I had for modernizing the community save file is the idea of creating a second file that I am referring to as a community save supplement, which contains a lot of optional stuff that won't be in the main community save file. This supplemental file will have the 2 letter combinations for all of the string tech, such as String.append("ol").

Between all of the different string tech out there, plus their Mr. variants and variants where the quotation marks are replaced with apostrophes, this could amount to well over 5000 new elements alone. Obsolete tech could be considered for inclusion into the supplement file and I am considering putting the essential building blocks for the #q / tya tech in there too because that tech is so advanced that most people using the regular community save file won't ever touch those elements.

The community save supplement is not intended to be used on its own, only in combination with the main community save. If someone wants to use both files, they would use IB's save file merger to merge both files together. If they have their own save file as well, they can merge their main save with the merged community save file (from merging both files together).

I'm not familiar with the "0 " or "! " tech. Does it work similarly to the "hi " or "hi Mr. " tech where you would use an element that removes the 0 or ! to produce an element that is no longer in quotation marks afterwards?
