as in the recipes tried count must be bugged
it definitely doesnt test every dead element with every other element in 0.1 seconds in total
keep in mind that looking at all subsequences is expensive (all subwords is quadratic and all substrings is exponential)

the recipe counter treated every dead element like it was combined with every other element, which was of course not the case

well wouldnt the formula be incorrect if u get a dead element
and the bot just combines it with like one element to see that its dead

My mentality is the less you need to think about it the fewer problems you need to consider

I do remember that Catstone said it omitted certain formulas like ones of the form a + b = a but maybe it's only listing dead elements that could be revived in the future

Pretty sure 2 if possible if dff means (ff), ddfff ((ff)f), dfdff f(ff), ddfff (ff)f, dddfdffddffff (((f(ff))((ff)f))f) (if I didn't typo, on phone right now.
So like prefix notation where you process any substring of "dff"
im gonna go 1 step further:
if you map ) -> 0, ( -> 1 and f -> 2 then you can represent each recipe as a number. now you can repeat a . that amount of times and boom you can represent any recipe using just 1 character!!
(can be upgraded by using base 3, so the numbers are not as big)

I'm pretty new to this server in general, but I've played Infinite Craft since the first month it came out. It took me a long time for me to actually join this server, but I had only learned there was a Infinite Craft Discord server about 5 months ago when I submitted my save file for the first time. I was already around 25000 elements on my save file when I submitted it for the first time, and have created another 70000 elements since then.
As a consequence of joining this server nearly 2 years since Infinite Craft has been out, there's a lot of discussions that I wasn't around to experience. So I'm enjoying going through and reading some of the popular posts under the Bounty Board section.
I read though the entire history of this channel, and this was a very fascinating experiment that @whole lark did with creating and using a script that can automate the process of matching elements with each other. Since the most recent version of your script appears to be over 1 year old at this point, it's safe to assume it wouldn't work with the current Infinite Craft. Do you have an updated version that works today? I would never use it on my actual save file that is approaching 100000 elements at this point, only on a brand new save file if I wanted to try it out.
