like

#

brainrot stupid

#

basically, all characters which are some kind of "number" have a defined numeric value

#

and for some reason sheets thinks that if this is defined, to convert to arabic numerals

plush pendant
#

huh ?

#

wth

valid gale
#

so if i make a japanese number

#

it converts it to arabic

#

totally braindead

#

i never asked

valid gale
#

so yeah as it turns out, if your recipe is only number characters you will need to prepend an apostrophe

#

*maybe

I like how after taking over the administration this space was never used again

valid gale

okay, i propose we turn this into a task force hub of sorts for the update to 16.0

#

anyone who can contribute or wants to, let me know

bleak crest
#

I mean for now we can use Fuezt's unassigned sheet for 16.0 storage

#

Maybe mark them off with a different colour in the meantime

#

What say you Mr. Firey Fox

valid gale
#

well, thats at best temporary, but in terms of actually starting the process

#

like sure we can do that

valid gale

#

I could rename one of the ones that never took off

#

Mongolian, Malayalam, Dhivehi

valid gale
#

but it would be funnier if the channel override just allowed specifically you to do it lol

#

so, what is needed for transfer, is there anything we want to do with sheet to make it nicer? (looking at korean sheet for some inspiration perhaps)

Fair enough

valid gale
#

well first thing is: do we insert the data over with the code I used to do it for unicode 15.1, or, do we use code to insert rows in the appropriate location

valid gale
#

crap I just wasted hours making code to do stuff for emoji sheet (updating that as well) but turns out I have to pay to use the library

#

And it’s $799 (US dollars too)

#

so well over a thousand dollars Australian

#

What the fuck

trail magnet
#

the heck

valid gale
#

well I have to go bed, is there anything else I need to know or anything we can get started on without me?

#

or can it wait

#

I just also have exam tomorrow

#

so I will be not here most of the day

bleak crest
#

I'm gonna be enjoying being mobile this weekend so nothing much will come from me

valid gale
#

I thought you said being on mobile for a second

bleak crest
#

Ah yes

How many more formulations of what the can the Unicode team see? Find out next time

valid gale
#

What

valid gale
#

well im getting there now, i got emoji sheet kinda working with a generator

valid gale
#

yes it’s actually kinda good now

#

If you take a look in the emojis thread the auto generated sheet is there for emojis

#

might be able to do similar for Unicode now

#

but yeah will need more work

@glacial plover

valid gale
#

for a move to 16.0, if i were to carry it out, should it be a new sheet entirely, repurpose the sheet, or archive the 15.1 in the same sheet and then start fresh so to speak

lunar idol
#

you mean like new sheet (subsheet) with all new stuff in 16.0?

valid gale
#

new sheet entirely means new workbook

plush pendant
#

I would not want another new sheet

valid gale
#

i somewhat agree also

valid gale
#

well, if new subsheets were made, would that work?

#

or do we overwrite the old

plush pendant
#

id say overwrite old

valid gale
#

I don’t agree there but I’ll need more opinions

pale thunder
#

I think either overwrite old or new sheet

valid gale
#

You wouldn’t want to archive the old one? I mean thing is for the purposes of insurance and data transfer there’s no way I’d delete it until 16.0 is properly operational
