474 messages Β· Page 1 of 1 (latest)
im out of ideas for Alligator mississippiensis, but i got the second part of its name if that helps
I'm looking for a few crocodilians (just common name as yet) for another list. π
I have found: Saltwater Crocodile.
Do you have: Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman, American Alligator or Spectacled Caiman?
...
Brine + Crocodile = Saltwater Crocodile
Brazil + Crocodile = Caiman
Scientific Name + Crocodile = Crocodylus
Scientific Name + Caiman = Caiman crocodilus
Scientific Name + Gharial = Gavialis Gangeticus
Scientific Name + Saltwater Crocodile = Crocodylus Porosus
π
Yes that would, how did you get it?
Mississippi + Scientific Name
Tysm
Nice
Hippo + Croc = Nile Crocodile
Nile crocodile + scientific name = the scientific name (forgot what)
Crocodilian Collecting
so far I have:
I'm not getting Nile Crocodile from any combo of Hippo (or Hippopotamus) & Croc (or Crocodile)
I did get Crocopotamus & Crocadile plus Crococopotamus. π
what list are you looking for?
also I'll see if I can find them
Cool. That works... how did you get the common name?
one sec
My list is #1212819985567850556
Crocodilius Niloticus (or whatever) + subspecies
I'm trying to get Cuvier's dwarf caiman rn
so far I'm up to crocodwarf
I got Caiman... I just couldn't find a path to Cuvier's.
yeah, I'm trying that now

Nicaraguan Crocodile
American Crocodile

sorry didn't look properly lol
Link to google sheet including the crocodilians: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17NF1iVafP2rLqeI4Ol745VOzNhrMknCzL0RoNrjChVY/edit?usp=sharing
oh wow, that looks super difficult, thank you π
may I ask, how did you get mountain chickadee?
LOL π
The Birds are a whole thing! Check out the spreadsheet on #1207217767229423637 .
California Chickadee + Rocky Mountain = Mountain Chickadee
oh thank you π that helps a lot
Don't do that tree just do the small one on the left
sorry for that goose chase
Paludentium is it's species name in Ark Survival lol
hmm, I still need blue-gray though π€¨
LOL, Probably not a help.
lol, now theres the problem of getting blue hobby lol
I have all the steps if you get stuck, but it's fun! π
yes please! π
I've been trying for the last half hour but are still confused LOL
See what you can do following the spreadsheet first (Use Ctrl-F) to find the recipes.
It would take half an hour to type it here, so let me know when you hit what looks like a dead end! π
do you mean this one lol?
If you do, I'm stuck on the mountain chickadee part
because theres no guide for californian chickadee
No... they have a pinned spreadsheet in #1207217767229423637
oh, ok, I'll check real quick - tysm
@elder hill and @heavy patrol, TYSM for all your help! π π π
We are now halfway to getting all crocodilians + scientific names
(32/64)
Priority wanted list:
False Gharial
Cuviers Dwarf Caiman
Spectacled Caiman
boutta commit murder
You may or may not have heard but theres a thing called the streisand effect
Pretty interesting go check it out. !
The spreadsheet shows Caiman crocodilus as the Latin name for Caiman - it's actually for the Spectacled Caiman.
Maybe include a generic line in each section (although Gharial IS the generic, I guess)
nice
hmm let me check real quick
oh you're right
I'll change it
the scientific name should be 'caimaninae'
π
\
Peak crocodile
πππ
PRIORITY LIST:
- False Gharial
- Phillipine Crocodile
- Marsh/Freshwater Crocodile (Scientific Name)

Nice! π
Couple of edits...
You're missing:
Mecistops cataphractus West African slender-snouted crocodile
And there's a typo on Crocodylus Acutus (it's entered as Arctis)
Oh, lastly - there are a heap of extinct not listed. Depends on how whether you want 'extinct' and/or 'prehistoric', but I have a list if you want. π
Yes please, that would be great
Iβll fix those asap ππ
There are 54 items on the list!
Make an empty page in the spreadsheet and leave it unprotected for a bit... I'll paste them in. π
I am. π
done :)
The page is there but the share is still on Viewer... it needs to be on Editor for a moment.
Reload it real quick
Done! π
Sorry about the mistakes, I did it this morning and wasnβt fully await LOL
Nice
Thank you
Well, for suggestions for extinct crocs:
Metriorhynchus
Armadillosuchus
Quinkana
Purussaurus
Gryposuchus
Mourasuchus
Smilosuchus
Rhamphosuchus
Mekosuchus
The ones I added are not per-se prehistoric, they're just extinct.
oh :p
JEEZ you know a lot, I only knew the ones there + purrasaurus
I think I'll seperate the extinct and non-extinct onto different pages
No, I know nothing... I'm just really good at researching & a little autistic! LOL π
(seriously)
I think Damon's just posted some good actual Prehistoric entries. ^
Thanks so much you guys, this would be so much harder without your help! π
Also the spreadsheet is a work in progress right now, so it's gonna look pretty bad while I fix it
No worries. π
It's all a journey.
I would suggest making your heading row 1, then right clicking will offer you "Create a Filter" and you'll get those fancy sort & filter bits. π
Nice, I'll try that now
Oh, and being extinct, none of those have common names that I could find. Sadly.
that's a shame, I'll do some research but still very useful
Looking good! π
figured that with all my 'Philippine' birds, that Philippine Crocodile was pretty feasible
I wasn't too far off
the only problem is Philippine Hawk-eagle is probably gonna have a convoluted recipe I'll see how mch I can simplify it for you guys
sorry....
All goods lol
the following components are linegaed: Blue Paint, National Bird, Laughing Gull, Audouin's Gull, Glaucous Gull, Dolphin Gull, Brown River, Collared, Black Hole Albatross
Are those the ones you need to make it?
and sparrow can be found here https://infinibrowser.zptr.cc/item/Sparrowhawk
yeah
having 3600 niche first discoveries is a blessing and a curse
Thank you! π€© That one was evading us for a while
Sheesh
That mustβve taken ages
Nice, Iβll add it to the spreadsheet soon
I don't think I'll be able to get to that lol seeing how many first discoveries you used, so would it be possible for you to try combining it with 'scientific name', 'binominal nomenclature' or 'subspecies'
hopefully we can get: Crocodylus mindorensis
Nice!
Another one off the list :)
Google sheet updated with extinct crocodilians as well :)
In #1212819985567850556 π
β
African Dwarf Crocodile
What are your recipe for Cuban Crocodile?
Nice
one sec
Nigruaguan Crocodile + Cuban
Cool... thanks. π
Some bits for your sheet. π
Just curious, how did you get all the letters in quotation marks? Also how did you find /d/?
My computer with my main infinite craft game is back up so I'm trying to get all the past one's I may have missed
For the "a" & /a/ alphabets go to #1214815916957761586 & check out the pinned post. π
This spreadsheet is also valuable: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uooJjUW0d0vDXmbxT4mKb0volZXSWKflh8l4R6mpsu4/edit?usp=sharing
thank you! :)
That sheet is from #1214689483849474089
thanks π
π€¦ββοΈ I only just realized this is an actual crocodilian
I've added it to the spreadsheet
For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how you got brachiosaurus though π€
R + Back = Brack
Brack + Dinosaur = Brachiosaurus
"sarco" + Prepend Hashtag = #sarco + Delete The Hyphen = Sarco
Without spaces maybe
I tried adding delete the spaces, but that didnβt seem to work π€
nvm I'll add that back once I've got them.
All Crocodilians so far: (Except for phillipines crocodile)
Philipines Crocodile! π
Borneo Crocodile! π
Itβs Dakosaurus not Dakasaurus btw
ohhhh
sorry lol, I'll change that :)
Nice!
I think we've already got philippine crocodile, but this is a much easier way so thanks!
β Borneo Crocodile
Yup... I think it may have been me that posted it but this is a Philippines Crocodile (with an 's' π )
ohh yeah
It also wasn't marked off on the sheet.
LOL... what about the Philippines then... it's not the croc that's pluralized, it's the island that's singular in the other one (only 1 Philippine?)
Just add a misc page for 'other' croc entries that may/may not be the wanted ones. π
Close, but no biscuit! π
oh yeah sorry, I didn't see that properly
that's a great idea!
Did you notice my Crocodylus mindorensis was a First Discovery! LOL
Did we BOTH get one? π
Oh, NP... I see... komodoskar submitted it before me, but after I had discovered it. LOL
that makes sense lol
Is any of this eligible for the misc page? π
I just dumped the FDs.
Nice! I had to adjust some of the names on the sheet since I had down different people for some of your first discoveries like Caiman Crocodilus
Not a worry... they were the one's to submit the recipe so they're cool to get credit. π
Oh, ok then! π
Another selection (only 1 FD) π
Ooh nice
β Broad Snouted Caiman
oh, sorry about that flashbang (Just realized it was in light mode lol)
quotations are working for you?

Any suggestions are welcome! π
Please make the shade of green darkerπππ
Does that look better? (Haven't added to all yet)
Crocodilian collecting all (alive) crocodile recipes so far
lol
I see no difference
How do you get prepend hashtag?
Thanks
all goods
Prionosuchus isnβt a crocodilian
Itβs a temnospondyl lol
Basically if a salamander decided to be a crocodile
Cute picture
Gryposuchus
Difficulty: 3.5/10
Nice π, youβre just smashing these out π
Armadillosuchus
Will do :)
Crocodylus Anthropophagus β
I'll try, but I think apart from @elder hill, everyone who does crocs is also on prehistoric species
actually nevermind, everyone who does is on prehistoric species lol
(sorry for the ping TaoistYang)
true, I only really use here, planet zoo, and prehistoric species but I'll ask
ahh yes. My favourite crocodile
@unreal atlas why is there so many N/A on the prehistoric crocs sheet
Deltasuchus = Deltatherium + Megasuchus (megasuchus doens't exist lmao)
Because we haven't found them yet?
Partly, also because I havenβt yet been able to find either a scientific name and/or common name both in infinite craft or via google
Nice
Australosuchus + Australosuchus Clarkii β
Deltasuchus β
Purassaurus β
Nice π
Iβll add those to the spreadsheet a bit later
β01:β is seeming super useful, Iβll try it on the more evasive crocs when I get back

smooth-fronted caiman scientific name
Iβm going to stop updating the βcrocodile relativesβ section on the spreadsheet as it is far too broad a selection to cover, but they can all be found over on the #1208085213620469890 sheet
Gavialosuchus β
wouldnt Gavial + βoβ = Gavialo + Sarcosuchus = Gavialosuchus work easier
Sarcosuchus is on infinibrowser so its pretty simple
gavial + "o" = gavial
maybe, but this is easier for people who don't have the fancy curly ones
