Projectile-based weapons are a really cool part of the game, but it's really easy to miss an enemy, especially since they move so fast and unpredictably. There have been times where it seems as if the projectile is touching the enemy or object, but it misses completely. This makes these projectiles not very viable, especially since it takes a little bit to craft a lot of them. I feel like giving projectile-based weapons a bigger hitbox or something might make people actually want to use them more.

this makes me remember an idea i had for a 4th weapon type that hit 3 times a second did lower damage but was ranged
it doesn't work as much with the fact that now weapons don't have an attacks per second stat

There have been some changes made to how projectiles worked on day 1 of the demo, they now deal more damage.
However, there will be improvements beyond that in the full release of the game, as well as other things that I shan't spoil!
