Wednesday has submitted a ticket

Versions: SPT 3.11.4 - 96e5b7 and Fika 1.2.8
Networking: Port forwarding
Description: I have been having problems with the headless client crashing mid-raid. It doesn't consistently happen but does happen maybe half the time. I don't have any mods installed except for SVM to change the scav timer to 0. The error happens both when playing only by myself and when playing with friends.
So far I have tried:
Using Fika-installer to update both the fika install and headless install on both the host and client PCs
Setting the headless client to restart after every raid
Manually increasing the pagefile size from the automatic 20GB to 128GB

The headless client is running on the same PC as the server, it has a 5900X with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD with ~500GB free

The log output from the most recent headless crash, IPs for me and my friend are replaced with 'p1' and 'p2'

#

Player log, not sure if it's from the most recent crash or not

nothing to hint at the issue in log files. reset your windows page file settings to managed by windows, the default, and make sure there's plenty of space on C: drive

Those were the default settings I had when the headless started crashing - is there any way for me to get more detailed debug logs or should I just give up on headless? Non-headless works fine

#

Found the event viewer logs for the crash if that helps

is headless client running on a separate machine than your own game?

tepid compass
#

already have headless set to restart after every raid, didn't seem to help

#

headless and fika server are on a seperate machine from my client, server machine is 5900x + 32gb ram @ 3200

if you're not running anything special on that machine then you may want to consider trying to reinstall windows fresh and keep it default as much as possible, set up your SPT and headless client completely from scratch all again and see if it continues. if it continues then it's probably hardware related.

i know thats not really a nice solution but there could be so many things that could cause the headless to crash. generally its either mods, virtual paging configs, ram usage, software interference or hardware issues

gotcha, makes sense

#

probably a good idea to clean install on that computer anyways now that its not my primary machine, its had strange issues with windows corruption in the past so could be that coming back

rain wagon
#

yea. just format & install windows from a usb stick, install your drivers, set up SPT/headless and try it right away

#

keep it as clean and default as possible

will give that a try over the weekend, for now I just redirected the port to my client computer and stopped using the headless

also just for fun you could try to run the headless in graphics mode. the 5900x doesnt have an igpu so surely you have a dedicated gpu in that system. maybe, just maybe, the non-graphics version of headless is unstable for whatever reason on your PC.

the graphics version of headless is going to run exactly like a standard EFT / Fika / SPT game. If it still crashes then it's very suspicious - it would mean that a standard Fika install in that system would also crash mid-game

#

you have to press G when you start the headless script to run headless in graphics mode

tepid compass
#

sure, I'll give that a try - ty for the help
