@clever yew please attach any applicable log files and mod lists while waiting for help!
the backend server seems to work fine, we can send items to each other
i followed this guide and everything appears to be set up correctly, but clients still cant join
this is the error we get
this is a P2P UDP issue. Make sure 25565 is open in the router and eft.exe is allowed in defender
hey thanks for helping, i made sure 25565 is forwarded to my pc on UDP, and i ran the FikaUtils.exe with it in my directory. will that have allowed eft.exe in defender?
should have yes, and you can verify in defender that it is there. The only reason it wouldn't be there is if you initially disallowed eft to connect
looks like eft.exe is allowed
working with another network security friend, he told me to check a different area of windows, and i found that this was disabled. could this be the problem?
yup
just need to wait for my friend to test it again, will update the thread after
your home network is considered "private" so its not allowing connections to that program over your network
i didnt expect there would be a firewall problem because we've been playing on 3.8.3 for months without issue
different folder probably
my friend says he still cant join, same error
would it be easier if a member of staff tried to join? idk what troubleshooting/debugging tools yall have
These are it. Lol
hm, well i don't know what else to try :( already restarted pc and network
can I see your f12 settings?
looks good. and this other person is outside of your network I assume?
yeah
did you try #udp-tester ?
no, ill take a loot at it
do these go into the SPT directory or can i run them anywhere?
you take the server one and he takes the other
other person says it's not connecting
so your pf isn't working thrn
is it possible the UPnP function on the router is breaking things? i noticed its turned on
maybe?
what is NAT Punching? could that be a workaround?
double confirmed that the port is being blocked somehow, my friends are not able to ping my 25565 port using networking tools
i doubled checked the firewall rules and it should be allowed
i'm 99% confident that i portforwarded 25565 to my pc with UDP, but i can't take another look at the portforwarding until later tomorrow
try port 19132 25565 is MC java default port 19132 is bedrock edition but ports are ports sooo
I just use ports I know so yeah
i'll have to try that later tomorrow
for now im going to sleep
gn
hey, just updating this thread to confirm that my 25565 port is forwarded. any ideas why it still seems to be getting blocked?
Show us the forwarding rule
when i ping 6969 it works, but when i ping 25565 it says connection refused
using this site https://www.portchecktool.com/
gonna try using 19132 instead of 25565
i dont have someone else to test the udp tester right now, could you try it?
If that still doesn't work then your port isn't forwarded correctly, if you can guarantee me that the firewalls are open in Windows too
i've ran the FikaUtils to add firewall rules
Then your router is the issue
You can try enabling UPnP, change the port ingame and host
Or do it in the UDP Tester, whichever works.
okay, ill update the thread again when i get a friend online to help test it
well, in the mean time, i was able to get the UDP tester to connect to a client on 25565 UDP from the same network. i used a spare laptop
Then it's your router if it doesn't work later, fairly sure
great news! it works! at some point after changing many settings, my friends can join my game. we had a great first raid. there was a weird bug where my alpha container was missing when i loaded in, and i could see a level 0 dogtag in my inventory. not related to the ticket, but i thought i should mention. i will resolve the ticket now
