#My dedicated server gives this error, can anyone help me?

Strange, I did everything right to make the Server dedicated and this is what happened here
It seems that the client cannot connect to the server
So there is something wrong there.
- Maybe wrong backend (spt-server) IP address for the dedi client ?
- Maybe wrong profile ID of the dedicated client profile from the server?
I will review
I had this too when i had either the IP or the profile ID wrong. Had to go and copy the profile ID from the server's user/profiles folder from the file of the profile. After that the client started and worked fine
Where do you put the profile ID?
Did you generate the startup script from the server? You will need to edit/open the startup script (like with a notepad) and check that the ID is the correct one. If it isnt, there is your problem. Just replace the ID with that of the dedicated client's profile id
So it matches then. Then there is another connection issue
The folder that your looking at, does it have the same SPT folder root where you are running your server at?
Yes
So that is the only profile you have on your server? If yes, then there is something else wrong with the connection
Check that you have the same IP set to the startup script as you have for your own SPT.Launcher? And you can connect to it with your own SPT client? (just a reminder to not post screenshot of your ip here 🙂 )
I did the following: I made two Tarkov folders, one for the normal game and the other for the Dedicated Server, I made the settings and it gave me this error that I present to support.
The one that is the "normal" should have the dedi profile in its user/profiles folder, right? just making sure
Has the same IP
I didn't know, so do I have to copy Dedi's profile to my normal game?
Umm, i maybe worded that wrong. I mean, the SPT installation folder where you are running the server at
So if you run the SPT.Server inside the same installation where you run your dedicated client, then it should be in the correct folder
Where is the dedicated Tarkov: D:\TarkovDedi
Where is the "normal" Tarkov: D:\Torrent\Client.0.14.9.1.30626
Which folder you are running the SPT.Server at?
From the "Normal" Tarkov folder
Good
I ran the SPT server from the Tarkov Dedicated folder and it was, what do I have to do now?
Does it work now?
Yep it seems to be working now
Now you just need to load into a raid with it 🙂
just select that checkbox when you load into a game
It should not be greyed out for you, and should be selectable now
Start the SPT.Client from the "normal" folder, make a profile for you and have fun 🙂
?
yep
Don't I need to start SPT Server?
If you have it already running on the other folder, you dont start another
Ok
Just make sure you use the same server folder where you always start up the server, the servers have separate databases and your profile is tied to that installation folder/server
And my friends? Will they start with just the Launcher too?
If you would like to use the "normal" installation folder to start up the server, then the profile file needs to be in that installations user/profiles folder instead. But it doesnt matter
Your friends need to setup your IP address to their launchers so they can connect to your server
And for your friends to be able to connect to the server, you will need some port forwarding magic OR use VPN such as RAdmin
I made two Tarkov folders so it wouldn't go bad. So to use my old saves (before using the dedicated one) do I need to copy them to the Dedicated Server folder?
We already use Radmin
Yes
Then dont use the SPT.Server from the "dedicated server". Use the one in your "normal" folder
copy the dedicated profile file from here. (the folder you showed me at the start of the conversation) to your "normal" installations /user/profiles folder
then the dedicated client should be able to connect to your server which has your old saves
yeah, i hope it works now
Everything went well my friend, I hope God blesses you with more knowledge, is there anything I can call you here?
Thank you very much
Your welcome. I hope you have fun with your friends 🙂 I also want to remind you that the mods you install to your "normal" folder, needs to be also installed on your Dedicated server installation folder as well to work in your raids. Happy playing!
Great 🙂 🙂
One question, do friends have to go in and check the option to join a raid with the dedicated host?
What do you mean?
Will my friends have to check this option?
If you want your friends to use your dedicated server, then yes
Otherwise your friends are hosting the raid on their own PCs if they dont check the checkbox
Oh yes, thank you!!
