#Is it supposed to take clients a long time to load into a hosts server?

we have a few mods and my buddy is loading into my hosted server but it's been at the main loading screen for a few minutes. Just wasn't sure if this was normal. Just to be clear, it's taking the client a long time.

For clarification, are you referring to the main menu as the "main loading screen"? or are you referring to hosting an actual raid, with the client taking a long time to load into the raid?

Ok yeah, check out what Ekuland posted - also worth generally checking for errors/indicating messages on the server and always worth trying fresh with no mods to isolate. If you have anyone else remote who can try to connect as well to confirm if it's everyone or just that client would help isolate further.

Hopefully the common issues guide helps out!

You should only have one instance of the aki server running - wherever that is. The clients do not run the server, they just change their launcher configuration to the correct server's IP:Port

#

so if Trench is hosting the server, your launcher should be set to connect to his server - and not launch your own

I got him the batch files in a zip and it's still taking forever

Do you have anyone else playing that is having the same issue? Just thinking of how to isolate this between the server vs his client.

no red on the server screen

And confirming as well, he DOES eventually load in successfully, just after a really long time?

I would personally try it completely modless and see where that takes you - during that loading time, the client is downloading their profile data from the server (and such), so excessive time during this would indicate either something wrong with the profile (which the server should spit out), a mod that isn't working/loading correctly, or some connection instability or misconfiguration (this last one seems less likely if it DOES eventually load)

Qtbue could press tilde and look at the console on his end - see if its throwing errors

Woohoo! Good to hear - though bummer that the mod is breaking it!
