#Joining server with >2 players hang up at "Waiting for players to finish loading"

Hello everyone,

as the summary already tells my friends and me have problems with joining to lobbies with >2 players. At the end all of us are stuck at "Waiting for players to finish loading". Joining to lobbies with max. 2 players is working like a charm with any combination.

Also, if the host presses "Force start" we are actually all spawning but not all of us can see all others. This is somehow random. I also attached the log files of each player.

Our setup:

  • SPT Aki server is hosted on a VPS running Debian (SPT Launcher is configured to it's DN)
  • All versions are updated to their latest version
  • We are using Radmin VPN (because port forwarding actually causes the same issue with just 2 players, so it never worked)
  • Additional mods installed: SAIN

We started a view times from scratch. So resetting everything and configure it again following the instructions on Github documentation. We tried both every time, port forwarding and Radmin, but it always failed.

We appreciate any help or hint to the right direction! Thanks in advance!

I'd start with host trying to do self-host server and no mods, just to remove unnecessary variables.

Are you forcing IP in the bepinex menu? (F12) I had this same issue and it was fixed by forcing the IP and force binding IP in that menu

Most likely they do, otherwise there wouldn't be any kind of connection between any amount of users.

Wdym?

You did run self-host and no issues found?

I mean that locally starting the Aki.Server with Radmin was now working fine ... but I don't understand why

Then the factor is something non-obvious, start with dedicated server but no mods, and keep adding one by one, maybe one of the mods causing the issue, but only shows up by specific conditions.

So we did a view more tries ... it seems to be somehow map related.

  • Ground Zero is not working, neither self-hosted nor on dedicated server
  • Factory is working fine on both ways
  • Customs and Reserve f.e. are working self-hosted, but not dedicated

Honestly makes no sense for me.

I totally agree, but this is what happens for us. I think that we'll give up on the dedicated host and just use the working self-hosting stuff. There is absolutely no hint what the problem could be.
