Where is backendIp? I dont see it in the http.json file
• What have I tried so far: Nothing because I dont see anything to try

Backend IP is located in Aki_Data/Server/configs/http.json. If you do not see the backend field then you are not using SPT 3.8.1.

You'll have to look on the SPT website if you want to manually update to 3.8.1. The other option is to fresh install using the automated installer.

okay i did this and i configured backendip to my WAN ip but now it says
started webserver at http://[insert my real WAN ip here]:2969
instead of what the docs say it should be, 0.0.0.0:6969
and when i try to connect through my launcher i get this dreaded message

Should be 6969 by default. You shouldn't change the ports unless you need to for port forwarding purposes.

The default for SPT is 127.0.0.1 but iirc you should set it to your public IP.

I believe so. 0.0.0.0 should also work.
I could be wrong, I don't port forward so I have no personal experience with it.

okay i did that and SPT aki gives me "started webserver at http://[insert my real wan ip here] and i changed my launcher to my wan ip and it says default server spt aki is not available

Double check your launcher settings and make sure the IP is in the correct format. Should look like this:
http://your.ip:6969
Make sure there is no trailing / after the 6969.

i did this and still doesnt work
out of curiosity im doing it with a vpn and everything is working fine with the server and launcher but the game isnt launching

The only other thing I can think of is the ports are not forwarded properly. But I have very little experience with port forwarding so I'm not sure :/
