Me and a friend just downloaded everything and followed the github page exactly. He is hosting and is able to get into the game fine but im getting the AkiCustomPlugin FAILED error. I've looked through the discord for ~30 minutes trying different fixes except for completely reinstalling and none of then have worked. We have no mods. We are port forwarding also.

SS the error and send it though please
I just reinstalled with the installer so I can't but its the same error I've seen a bunch of otherr people getting. Ill try to find a pic of it
this one
If he is hosting you shouldn't have 127.0.0.1 in the launcher. You should have his IP, Formatted like http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/6959
I do have his ip in the launcher. and its still showing 127 in the logs
Weird
I haven't changed anything in the http.json and all my friend hosting has is the ip to 0.0.0.0. the backend ip line is still 127.0.0.1. We tried changed both of them around to multiple configurations and none of them worked.
Most likely it's showing backend log, this is 3.8.1 thingy with 2 ips now
it is were both on 3.8.1, downloaded everything at the same time
Connection issue, not usual kind tho.
@glad knot do the routine questions, i'll join when i notice something's off :D
smells like a firewall to me to be honest.
Excellent. @polar anvil you and your friend use this #1236817196127096833
We have the ports forwarded. and we both tried completely disabling both private and public firewalls and I still got the error
we just did. he turned off ipv4 and 6 protection to do a blanket test and im still getting the error
Has he used
https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
To test that port 6969 is open?
Port checker is a utility used to identify your external IP address and detect open ports on your connection. This tool is useful for finding out if your port forwarding is setup correctly or if your server applications are being blocked by a firewall.
he has used a checker
Is he seeing your IP trying to connect on his server?
yes, on the launcher he is seeing me connect
he sees me connect when I open the launcher and nothing changes when I start the game and get the error
is there anything in the http.json he would need to change that isnt in the github? the github doesn't mentio anything about the new version with the backend ip. should it be left default to 127.0.0.1? or should it be changed to his external or inteernal ip?
Because it is not required, something different happens within the connection between you and your friend.
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
That's why i said related to firewall, not ports.
if it was a port issue, you couldn't've connect to his server via launcher to begin with.
Either that, or something else went wrong, like you sent http request but was routed elsewhere.
So far i can say binding ip to 0.0.0.0 should've done the trick if it is self hosted.
however if server is on dedicated, backend ip might also be required to be touched.
and I shouldn't need to change anything in the json if im not hosting the sserver right?
yep
Would my friend hitting exit on the popup that said wait for the window to fade to aaccept the eula cause any issues? I just connected to my own server and he said he might have hit exit on it
it will just close the game
Ok may have found a potential issue but we have no idea what is causing it. Our install directories are identical but he isnt getting the Fike Core Settings in the F12 menu which makes us think his fika didnt install or isnt working properly. He deleted and recopied the fika files into the directory and it didnt fix it. Is the only option left for him to reinstall too?
