#Stuck on waiting for players to load

So I've been pulling my hair out on this one I've tried everything (even both of using fresh installs with just Fika and spt) and we can't seem to get past the waiting for players piece. If we load in solo there are no issues. both on SPT 3.8.1 and the latest Fika build.

Hosting via VPS using Radmin and I can ping my brother no issues. We have followed the all the guides including checking firewall etc and just can't seem to crack this it was working fine before we moved to 3.8.1 so we decided to just full nuke everything and start again. Anyone have any ideas on what we may have missed.

Things we have tried

Full fresh install just using Fika
Binding IP via the F12 menu
Trying to load solo to see if it works (which it does)
We have also tried both of using hosting
My Http json file has the VPS IP in the IP and fallback IP field my brother has his has as the default 127.0.0.1
We checked firewall entries on both Tarkov launcher and the AKI.Server

My fix was through portforwarding, idk if it works on VPS but try turning on UPnP and changing the port number to 25567

Tried that no luck it seems

any ideas?

Dropping in server and client logs not sure what else this could be. spent some more times trying to get around this but for the life of me I can't figure out what the issue is. If anyone has any ideas on what else to try let me know!

My fix was through port forwarding as well, double check that UPNP is making a second UDP port and remember you don't need to make a second UDP port if you have UPNP enabled

#

Your internal ip address that you set up for the TPC port should also be your pc ip

wooden gorge
#

does this looks correct

For 6969 just to be sure, add udp to

Send me a picture of your VPN and F12 settings

If I'm port forwarding I don't use VPN from what I can tell from the documents is that correct?

We were using Radmin but as it wasn't working and based on the suggestions in this thread I thought the fix was to no longer use vpn and just run via port forwarding?

Yeah, if you can port forward that is objectively faster and better

#

If you are using UPnP, change the port to 25566 in the F12 menu.

wooden gorge
#

Yup will do just wanted to make sure all my router settings were solid before I jumped back in!

#

I will report back once my bro is online and we have managed to test

wooden gorge
untold grove
#

No, opposite

#

If you have UPnP enabled in the router, enable it in F12

#

Or disable and use standard port 25565 if you have UPnP disabled and 25565 forwarded

#

Either works

wooden gorge
#

this is how mine is atm

untold grove
#

Change 25565 to 25566

#

Or disable UPnP since I saw that you hard 25565 forwarded

untold grove
wooden gorge
#

ok will disable it and try that first

#

cheers

wooden gorge
#

so i cant seem to get the launcher to fire any more after closing and re-opening

#

seems to just sit on this stage

#

then after a whilse I get this

#

if I set it back to 127.0.0.1 in the launcher>settings>URL it then works

untold grove
#

Then your router doesn't support nat loopback

#

Just keep it at 127

wooden gorge
#

for my brother as he is just a client he does have to use my IPv4 address tho correct?

wooden gorge
#

cool will try that shortly

I was curious about being stuck on waiting for 1 player and whether or not it's relevant to this.

Once I test I will let you know

Just managed to test on my brothers machine so he isn't launch the aki.server and just the client which I believe is the correct process. He has then gone into Launcher -> settings -> adjusted the IP in the URL field to reflect my IP taken from https://ipv4.icanhazip.com/ and making sure to leave the correct formatting (so http://xxx.x.x.x:6969) not trailing backslash either. When he goes to use the launcher it just loops and then says failed to connect. Ive checked over the Fika install guidance and I believe we are following everything 1:1

going to be a while I think brother just called on site to fix an issue but i will drop you a message when we are free. Thanks again mate been a hero so far!

I think I may have found the issue here at least with port forwarding. I checked a few port checkers and they all come back closed. After some digging it seems like my ISP uses CG-NAT which won't allow port forwarding to work so I guess that is out of the question unless I pay the difference and make my IP static. Going to swap back to Radmin to see if that works and will let you know if we still get stuck as we moved to open ports because we couldnt get VPS working

Ok
