#Waiting X Player - Server on seperate machine

Hi there,
Me and my friends are trying to setup Fika.
Everything works from the launcher finding the server and creating the profile.
We can all start the game, we can join raids alone and everything works.

The only thing failing is if we want to play togheter.
One of use does Host and the other just join, after that we just get stuck "Waiting X players".
We have tested setting the Bind IP only, Bind IP + Force Bind IP, only the host defining the Bind IP, etc no changes.

One diference in this setup that I don't see many people do, is that the server is running on a different machine from all the clients (including the host).
We are using the Port forward method and the ports are correctly open and Nat (forwarded), since we can connect to the server.

Any ideas what might be missing?

I assume port forward then

Are you port forwarding the 25565 to the server or the person hosting the raid

25565 is for the person hosting raids, this needs to be done for them

#

6969 is all the server needs

#

And then ensure firewall is done right for raid host

hm, so the server component is just to track progress and orchestrate, but the actual gameplay is P2P?

edgy lance

Raids are P2P

#

Yes

I see

Will try that, thanks

At least till we get the headless server stuff made

#

Which is..... some time yet

#

Ping me when you tested and if you are working so I can close it out

@edgy lance question, does anyone need to set the "Bind IP" thing on the F12 options?

edgy lance
#

Not with port forward

#

That is for VPNs to ensure they use the proper interface

light viper
#

Does all players (clients), need to have the UDP port forwarded?

No, only host. (Not server)

@edgy lance feel free to close this, we decided to switch into using a VPN which worked
