• FIKA Version: 0.9.8875.33465 (same for friend hosting)
• Port Forwarding
• Explain Problem: Can't connect to my friend hosting using port forwarding, says "connecting" for a while then the server is not available
• What have I tried so far:
-Firewall rules added on his side, even tried with both our firewalls disabled and web agent of Avast disabled
-Ports are forwarded on his side AND UPnP is enabled
-URL on my Launcher has the good IP address with the good port (6969)
#Server not available with port forwarding

Port Checker is a simple tool to check for open ports and test port forwarding setup on your router.
Verify and diagnose connection errors on your computer.
have friend go here and check port 6969
Update : friend launched server as admin and..... it works
Stuck on "Loading profile data"
but it's probably me
give it time, if it doesnt work relaunch
Port 6969 is closed, very strange since he forwarded the ports and I did connect to him successfully and was able to launch the game
Which setting? this one?
(Now we're back to "not available" again)
Even if he runs as admin?
Yep.
ports are still open, UPNP is activated, 6969 is activated too on upnp
Port checker still says ports are closed
make sure the ip is correct in port checker
the host is running port checker, right?
disable 6969 in UPnP
Upnp disabled globally (can't do by port), not working 😦
He's restarting his internet box
ok. lmk
still not working
What is his ip set to in http.json?
It is 0.0.0.0
have him try to connect via his own WAN in launcher
Wut, he says it didn't work
Is it possible to have another port than 6969 for the TCP? just in case the port itself is problematic.
sure
try 6970
He forwarded the port but portchecker says it is closed, we're trying to see why
make sure his ip is correct in portchecker
also make sure he is setting ip correct in port
It is
Try a different port checker i guess
Port checker is a utility used to identify your external IP address and detect open ports on your connection. This tool is useful for finding out if your port forwarding is setup correctly or if your server applications are being blocked by a firewall.
Because the strange thing is we're currently trying with UDP tester, we can connect in the blink of an eye
UDPtester returned him an error with port 6970 so we're back to 6969
i'm connected to him with the 6969 on udptester yet on both websites the port is closed
Not the right kind of port
Once the AKI server is up, UDP tester returns this :
Port: 6969
Using UPNP to fetch WAN IP and map port forwarding.
Exception caught:
Error 501: See UPnP Device Architecture section on Control.:1

Force Bind IP? Y/N
is that normal?
Is he forwarding 6969 tcp?
Yes, he tried both tcp and udp to see if it changes anything
try netstat -a in cmd
TCP 0.0.0.0:6969 DESKTOP-9ITP5IB:0 LISTENING
Not established, server is currently running
check port checker now
Closed
Odd question, but if you do a whatismyip in google do you come back with like a 100.64.xxx.xxx or 100.127.xxx.xxx
Or if you know does your external IP start with those?
whatsmyip returns an adress starting by 185
all right
Cause if it was it would need your ISP to help
earlier it did work for like a minute (i got stuck on loading profile data), it was 85.170
question from my friend : does he have to change his IP?
No, i'm trying to connect to a friend who is the host
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH We were doing this backwards then
Okay, make sure HIS firewall is down
If you can connect after he turns windows firewall off then its all good. YOu don't need to port forward shit
In the launcher make sure you are http://hisExternalIP:6969
Firewall are down, IP is good, its the same as when it worked
And it still says you can't connect? It says Aki-Server-yada-yada in the launcher?
And he has the server part turned on?
It worked once when he ran as admin when firewall was down. that is what lost me
my launcher looks like this, his server is up, mine is not
Friend is telling me firewall was up... I'm lost too
in fact -we're- lost cause we're trying to put the finger on what worked for a second but we can't
can you try to ping his ip really quick?
Has there been a fresh reinstall of SPT using the Installer on both sides just to make sure nothing got messed up?
If so then ignore me
he has to go to sleep, we're on it for 4h and its 00:30 in France
I got SPT for a long time, moved my mods out, friend is a fresh install since he was only playing on live version
maybe the culprit?
I would try to ping his ip, then you do fresh install with the installer
We will leave this open btw, so if we need to pick it up again later it will be here
We will try again when he can, i'll try a fresh install on another drive too to be sure nothing "old" is messing
Thank you very much for the help ! Sorry for not making it work ^^
No need to be sorry, we want to get it to work for you just as much
We can try again at a better time
Yeah, gonna go back to solo for now hehe.
Good night !
Night
Retried today with another friend hosting, worked and we did a test-raid like 20 minutes ago
