Music production customizations (ulimit, pipewire)

In order to create music and load vst plugins, it is required to increase the amount of memlock (ulimit). Guides such as this one (https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/adding-user-to-group-doesnt-work/163079/2) might work on silverblue, but adding a user to pipewire group for ulimit increment doesn't work in secureblue..

Oh, wait. I see this is a known issue. I ran these commands: root@fedora:~# echo "$(getent group | grep dialout)" >> /etc/group root@fedora:~# usermod -aG dialout me Then I rebooted and I was correctly added to the dialout group.

I nobody is able to help me there, I consider switching back to a different OS.

Apart from not being updated after 2 years, it doesnt seem to do much either. You should enable the realtime kernel feature back, then apply other options recommended by this script:
