Dunno why this is happening, but on Secureblue, if I have a VPN active (I've tried both Mullvad and Proton, and a few servers from each of them), I'm getting blocked from the Discord site. These same VPNs work fine on other devices for accessing Discord (Mac, iPhone, Android).
Doesn't seem to be specific to Trivalent (I tried the Brave Flatpak quickly to test, and got the same error). I also did a quick search of this server and didn't seem to find anyone else with this error, but maybe I missed something.

Ah this is known to Proton at least, whose only solution is to use Firefox 😵💫
Any other site I would just reroute with Control D but that will break VC
You might be encountering https://xcancel.com/vencordapp/status/1976622260162314292
On Vesktop (a Discord desktop mod client) I had to switch to a MacOS user agent
Yeah this is my plan at the moment
Id rather just use the website
but then I think you need an extension to consistently spoof UA
so dunno which is the worse trade-off
@maiden compass u r the trivalent guy right
discord desktop client or extension scoped to just discord.com
which makes me discord's bitch more?
Can't access discord.com with a VPN
For the record, I can access Discord just fine on the web with Proton VPN. I do have the Vencord extension installed though.
I haven't tried it without Vencord to compare
I am something of a John Trivalent type... I did not choose this name.
Wdym? Like PWA or Desktop client?
I'm on proton vpn and discord works just fine on trivalent, maybe discord blocked the specific proton server you're using?
That does happen sometimes, for some reason only in Trivalent
Mullvad has been a culprit a lot in the past for that
I tried multiple servers from both mullvad and proton, all blocked
yeah
I assume the desktop client would have the least friction, also more features. It is also decently less secure though, for a decent amount of reasons
Maybe try tinkering with DNS filtering settings? Could also be the cause
nah it's definitely the IP address
proton confirmed it on a reddit post
Linux + chromium user agent coupled with a known VPN IP address
^ this combo gives the block
change any one of the three, and it works fine
It might just be a narrow scoped rate limit. So they could re-block should one of the elements change? Idk
I use brave and mullvad vpn and this happens to me often. But It works as soon as I connect to canadian or american servers
However this doesn't seem to work with Twitter and github. They for some reason don't even let me sign up.
the question is why?
Mullvad Is flagged on a lot of websites
This Is the same case for most vpn's though.
Surprisingly enough, when I signed up to github using riseup it did went through. But my account got flagged a day later and I'm shadow banned now.
I know I just set up vm vpn gateway with allowed vpn, then run my main with differnt vpn on the host. isp see mullvad, discord sees proton
no because aps can wifi scan and see you bssid/geoloaction. theres no system wide block. I dont like relying on single point like an app setting. Ive got apps blocking access to wifi scan and system wide via vm. Also the vm is a low attack surface cause it only used as vpn gateway, no browser, apps etc. You could easliy do other way around but vm are to slow....
I installed an extension for switching UA for the time being, and only gave it access to discord.com
works fine for now
Iirc, you can spoof your UA without an extension, but its global
