I'm trying the sway desktop image and I'm getting the following error during the ISO installation:

you could try a different iso for good measure but shouldn't be any different
you could also try installing fedora sway atomic and rebasing
as a last resort

Stupid question, does it matter if you start from any fedora atomic OS?
Like if I were to start from bluefin as an example
I guess you'd have some left over configs in /etc/ or something idk, I've only been using fedora atomic desktops for a little bit.

Yeah the VM was able to fully install and reboot, it's just my laptop that's having problems.
