A better-positioned close button

It took me a while before I discovered that an x button actually exists within the menu, closing it is such a pain. Maybe a dedicated button to close the menu would be beneficial

I do plan on revamping the UI to be better on Android. Also you can close the menu by tapping on the button again (The one you tapped to open the menu), it acts like a "Toggle".

I know that happens but sometimes the UI overlaps. I know I can move the menu and then close it but it's still better to have a dedicated close button

There is a "X" button like you mentioned, but you stated closing it is a pain.

There is a menu scale but yeah I understand the pain of a small screen.
