Death Notes have already been removed from Coven. Here's why they should be removed globally:
- Shroud and Werewolf can easily and anonymously out any evils fakeclaiming if their fakeclaim involves a different visit from their real visit
- Berserker can anonymously relay Baker reveals and PB/Warlock track info
- If any killer (with a DN) attacks the person SK jumps into, they can edit their Death Note and out exactly who the SK is, before their Death Note even flips so there's no delay
- (Doesn't count as much because Neutral Special) CS can result in Coven gaining access to Death Notes (unless Death Note check is by faction and not by role)
- Arsonist can instantly (and anonymously) out transformed Apocalypse during an ignite if they had them doused
- Any killer (with a DN) can use Death Notes to convey their identity if Death/Famine happens to be close to transforming to confirm themselves as not Death/Famine (mostly applies to Death)
Sure, some of these are situational, but the only purpose Death Notes serve overall are to just leave a funny comment or anonymously giving information without much if any risk to the killer. Funny comments can be given any time throughout the game (most prominently D1), but anonymously giving information the way Death Notes can is not good. That's why Coven had theirs removed, and why everyone should have theirs removed.
A modifier could be made to bring Death Notes back, but I'd at least like no death notes to be default behavior.
