Spy (Town Investigative)

Attack: None
Defense: None

Abilities:

  • Bug a player's house at night, detecting the presence of evil roles in their vicinity.

Attributes:

  • Enchanted players who visit Bugged targets will appear as an Enchanter would.
  • Illusioned players will not appear to visit any Bugged targets or appear to perform any evil abilities.

Bug (Night | ♾️)

  • Visit a player to Bug their house. Bugs remain on a target indefinitely.
  • Bugs will reveal which evil roles visit their target each night.

Monitor (Passive | ♾️)

  • Each night, you will passively Monitor each evil role which triggers a Bug.
  • Monitored roles stay monitored until you die.
  • Each night, for each Bugged player, you will learn all harmful abilities used by Monitored roles on them at some point.

This design helps make the role more intuitive while also making it more skill-dependent and high-reward if you bug the right people

Your bug on [1] Blossom crackles with static.
- You detect that your target was visited by the Dreamweaver.
- You detect that your target has since been Dreamweaved.

Your Bug on [2] Doggie crackles with static.
- You detect that your target was visited by the Baker.
- You detect that your target has since been Revealed by the Baker.

And roles on the Monitor list will have their abilities revealed to you if you bug players they've targeted at any point in the game

I think I've finally gotten the hang of making a Spy rework that's both interesting, intuitive, and intricate while not being overly complex

Since more complex designs lend to better results, but complexity of such degree in a casual game isnt great

Yeah, but seeing "Healed by a Baker" is another instant out that I would rather not have.

Spy isn't really supposed to be a swingy "gotcha" role that affects very specific roles. This is why you took Illusion out of it, right?

I think certain roles should be accommodated as well since Illusion already creates an exception.
