#how do i change the role names

there used to be a post about how to do role renames and gradients, but that doesnt exist anymore in suggestions. So i will just say here.

  1. Open up ToS2
  2. Click the SalemModLoader icon in the top
  3. Click Browse
  4. Scroll down till you see Text Editor (download this)
  5. Restart game
  6. Open ToS2 Back up
  7. Click Mod Actions
  8. Click "Dump XML"
  9. Go to the Dumped Folder and copy the region you want to use (there are two folders in StringTables)
  10. Drag that into the Custom Folder
  11. Enter the XML file with Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code
  12. Click Ctrl + F on your keyboard (Command + F for Mac users)
  13. Type "GUI_ROLENAME"
  14. Name any of the roles
  15. Restart ToS2 (Again)

you do have to restart tos2 again after you rename

or have tos2 closed THEN rename anything

if you wanna rename btos2 roles, you need to use a stringtable extension (tuba happily provided it in btos2-chat) #lgbtos2-chat message

just take the </StringTable> at the end of the Vanilla StringTable, delete it. then take the <StringTable> at the start of the BToS2 Stringtable and delete it, then add the btos2 stringtable to the vanilla stringtable
