Bring back lovers why not, it was decently popular!!
I have made some changes from TOS 1 however, so it's not a 1 to 1 port.

Lovers (Modifier)

  • There are several pairs of lovers: two players of opposing win conditions are life-linked, and one lover's win condition is replaced with the other's.
  • If one lover is in a faction (i.e coven) with 2 or more members, the other lover must join that faction, and both lovers have no defence.
  • Whispers between lovers are hidden.

Notes

  • Unlike tos 1 lovers, lovers don't share both win conditions: the game changes one lover's win condition to the other's.
  • Apocalypse and Coven count as factions if they have 2 or more members. This means, if only one spawns, they aren't a "faction" by the Modifier's standards, and may be lovers with someone in a faction. (Apoc + Coven lovers is only possible if one of them is solo)
  • Pirate, Doomsayer and Exe can be lovers, but don't leave when they would win, as well as losing their abilities + getting no defense
  • Cursed Souls can be lovers, but don't leave when Cursed Souls would have won. They also count as a faction if there are 2 or more cursed souls.
  • Jackal + Recruits count as a faction, they may have lovers but those lovers must win with the jackal.

Roles that cannot be a Lover:

  • Bodyguard (Kills itself to perform its job, that's a nono
  • All Neutral Pariah (Too much shenanigans, many of the same reasons they can't be CS swapped)
  • Jester (requires dying to win)

last time I played this mode, the entire Town died in one night, and literally nobody else died

so from then on it was just a fight between literally everyone

the game ended in a Pirate only win, the Pirate was lovers with Medusa and we made it to a 2v1
