im no expert but you can try to silently bounce off questions against your TT
as a tt you should be more willing to push your teammates
go for maj if you can, but if several of your teammates die early, you should probably go for hunt
getting evils killed makes you more credible in tt hunt
And hard defending evils means you will get lynched in it
Buss TT
Rule 7.
generally go for maj when you have a strong tt like jailor, vigi, pros, of course
or mayor
If you are going for TT hunt, act like you don't know who your coven members are, so push each person equally, especially if they are acting more suspisious. Granted, maj is a more consistent way to win, but yknow, sometimes it's not an option
fair
you can also just tell your coven to get themselves lynched if you need to start hunt asap
yeah
how did I tab on just as nuggy was typing lol
TT is probably the most socially advanced mode in TOS. Strategies open up so much more, as the very existence of the mechanically undetectable TT put a huge emphasis on reading players and their actions, as well as making certain strategies like having your own teammates killed to save you much more viable.
-
For starters, a good TT wants to act almost the same as a townie - to have the best chances though, you don't wanna just passively lay back, you want to try and work your way up the ranks of town's trust.
-
You have the advantage that you cannot be found by any abilities, so town catching you (aside from running into a vet/crus) comes down purely to if they can see through your lies.
-
What you should do as TT depends on the role you have been given. Many want to do the strategy I mentioned above, work their way into town's trust so if the game falls back onto a TT hunt you stand the best chance.
-
However, if you have a strong role or a really good synergy with one of your evil teammates, it can actually be best to fully lean into your ability and start blasting! Get a good fake claim, and shoot people as a Vigi or start exing as a Jailor. You might even want to save your ability for end game, as a Mayor or Prosecutor, and show your true colours last second in order to sow chaos.
-
Make sure you also keep in mind that other players are going to be looking into the actions of other players, such as your whispers or voting patterns. Unless its clear your team is going for Majority, don't vote with them. Vote with good players, follow the lead of some and set up an inner circle of trust so other townies will back you up if your evil team falls apart and it goes down to hunt.
-
As the teammate of a TT, keep in mind their fate is up to them, you can't and shouldn't always throw yourself under the bus if they are very clearly outted since going for the usual evil win with Majority is statistically the best way to win as evil (town wins TT hunt most of the time statistically)
-
However, if things are looking downhill and you might need to go to hunt, a very common strategy is bussing. Allow your TI claiming TT to find dirt on you and get you lynched, or claim to have visited someone and have your Trapper/Crus TT say "I didn't see anyone visit!" This gives them some credibility for if it goes to hunt, but do remember that people will be on the lookout for these strats, so it has to look legit if you do try it.
-
Also, only communicate in night chat... unless you can cook up a very good reason for whispering. You don't want people to be able to figure out your TT based on who you are communicating with.
-
You can also go for risky plays yourself, and try to get your own TT killed during the day - whichever one of you gets the axe, the other is confirmed to be good to town from now on!
Bc I was typing for ages
lmfaooo
Anyway there's a lot to take in but keep in mind at the end of the day its still just a game, and also going for unexpected plays can work and you don't need to play TT really hardcore or anything !!
W TT play is put a piece of paper over everyones roles so you don't know who coven are
You're as clueless as a townie then
Coven chat exists
Your teamates names being coloured exist
There is a good reason why your teammates tell you that "you don't know us" if you are a shit TT: They are most likely going to do a TT hunt and they want you to act like your not TT.
The way I play as a normal town in a TT hunt is "just off me. I don't want to have to defend myself on the last day"
i've never been tt so i would to know that
bussing is good to get to tt hunt faster but if you buss every night it gets suspicious
if you want to go hunt, buss 1-2 teammates ideally
then its more believable
at least from my anecdotes
Veticide play (making coven suicide into you) as a TT might get into TT hunt fast but people might gonna sus you for pushing that tho
Claim pros:
Adding to what Nun already advised.
Note: the words marked in bold are terms that I have selected. In an actual game, they can be referred to with multiple other terms.
About playing as a TT:
Playing as TT is split into 2 win cons and 2 playstyles, those being the TT Hunt win con, or the Majority win con, The Aggressive and Passive playstyles.
||First let's get this out of the way, committing to a certain win con for the entire game means you or coven are/must play Aggressively. You admit that you want to play for only THAT win con, THAT you will not TRY to swap win cons mid-game and that you have nothing to lose. Double down on any accusation, find a way to prove it false, or push the accuser. ||
Aggressively playing for hunt - Activity earns the towns trust, a great way to play with a weak TT role (Tis, Tps except Crus) and weak Coven.
you should probably advise your coven of which win con you choose in the night 1 coven chat. You should try to be active, if not the most active townie in discussion, push people for their roles, wills, whisper for claims, buss your coven (not too much though), write down claims. Once you have enough evidence that any normal townie needs to condemn someone as evil, push it. However, you should not only play aggressive and doubtful towards your coven, but to every non-confirmed townie in the game.
Coven may aid you, by structuring claims that your role can break.
Even though you are playing aggressively and doing work, that doesn't mean you are confirmed. You should be willing to be lynched in tt hunt, and hope the town buys your bluff or you have earned enough trust.
Aggressively playing Majority - Kill-power and Deception is your strong suit, a great way to play with a strong Coven and a weak TT role (TIs, Tps, Admirer)
||Remember, you are locked on this win con, double down on everything, do not try to flip on your coven after having defended them, it will just make you more suspicious. ||
you should probably advise your coven of which win con you choose in the night 1 coven chat.
You should try to be active, if not the most active townie in discussion, push people for their roles, wills, whisper for claims, buss your coven (not too much though), write down claims.
Same as Aggressively playing for hunt, however:
- If too many people claim an alignment, push the townie.
- Try to hang weak town claims and take the lead.
- You and your coven members can back each other with fake claims.
Defend your coven at all costs! If your coven is close to earning majority, condemn town claims calling out your coven by making up a fake one yourself, put doubt on the accuser.(trade yourself for another coven's life if it earns you majority)
Pushing a townie to hang by making a fake claim to gain majority is never a bad play, do it if needed.
Passively playing for hunt - While inactivity is bad, staying alive is way more important! A great way to play with a Weak Coven and a Strong TT role (Pretty much anything that can kill)
you should probably advise your coven of which win con you choose in the night 1 coven chat.
You should participate in the town's discussion, while lightly pushing or pointing out flaws in the coven's claims. Remember, while playing this way, you must try to symbolize your importance to the town's efforts, give coven less if not absolutely no reason to kill you.
The best way to do this is to fake claim and eliminate your coven at night (use the flaws you pointed out in day chat as your reasoning if ever asked).
You can also conspire with townies you trust in whispers, that way u earn theirs.
||As a Jailor, you can be as aggressive as you want in jail chat.||
Passively playing Majority - Your sole power can wipe out the entire town, while your Coven cause chaos. A perfect way to play with a weak Coven and a strong TT role (pretty much anything that can kill + Monarch, Mayor)
Advise your coven in night 1 chat.
You should try to participate in the town's discussion, while lightly pushing town and trying to stall for day end if the town has no idea who to hang. You should let your Coven play aggressively, taking the lead, backing each other and pushing town. You should write down claims, and take notice of who to kill. While your coven focus on their claims, you should focus on their next ability use.
Calculate who to kill, who to roleblock, who to poison, who to silence in a way that town has absolutely no info. Your extra kill should be used on those who have, can obtain info or really strong town roles.
Neutral: While the playstyles I have stated depend on roles, you can truly play however you wish.
You can swap your win cons if you haven't defended or pushed your own coven too much.
This also may be effected by convenience, where town suddenly got this huge pile of info, a lucky vigilante shot, a lucky roleblock or something like that.
In some cases, it's best to play aggressively and passively.
Convenience is something that Town Of Salem games are just full off, so based on it, you may have to swap win cons, sacrifice your coven, and what not. It is very bold to lock yourself onto 1 win con, but it can be very guiding and lead to good communication.
In Apocalypse Town Traitor, Playing Neutral is possibly the best way to play it. The game mode is too slow paced (Hard to rush Majority, Bigger chance of conveniences) and town has a lot of kill-power (Hard to live trough TT hunt) and you have no idea what to expect.
Anddddddddd Final Note:
||for every time I have said coven here also applies to Pandora.I forget that it exists||
When a Pandora game with SC: Go for Death win. If SC/Death dies, fall back to TT hunt. You or the SC are the win cons.
Apoc roles carry different win cons is something I forgot to mention
Which is why Att is confusion and makes it impossible to scumread LITERALLY anything
Pandora I think it's best to play towards the Apoc win con, and not only Death.
How are you gonna Pest win con in Pandora TT? That's one role you're playing in a long game
I wouldn't count pest to have one
Neither War
They don't have wipeout potiental
that just wins you the game
Honestly, I see War as going for Maj win because after N1, your team is basically double killing per night (and it becomes triple if transform into War)
But thing is, Bers is banned in Pandora TT
oh
yea War is just a killing role for maj win
I'd say Pest too but it's back and forth
Pest is not consistent with it because there's a chance that you transform late. And by then, you probably ain't going for Maj
Just play like town
Also something worth noting is to try and not show that stressed, even though a TT hunt is extremely stressful, they'll pick up on it. good luck :D
The things that have gotten me hanged as TT are
- pushing my allies too aggressively (people will catch on that I knew who it was very early and suspect I am on the evil team)
- being too passive (if you are too laid back or don’t talk much, you will likely be hanged during hunt, if you aren’t hanged earlier on suspicion of being coven)
- backing allies (if you don’t have a strong majority, don’t try extremely hard to save your teammates unless the rest of the town is convinced they’re real)
in other words
try not to overdo anything
you want to mesh with town well
if you think you can push for maj try backing your faction but otherwise don’t cling to them
keep in mind if you’re lying about your role, you will want to push for maj, so back your faction
Bussing your TT only works if you have a nuclear bomb ready.
Like, if you're Death or Famine with a breaded Auditor for example.
