Yesterday a jailor in my game was making people describe their silhouettes while in jail and then lots of people started getting angry at them for metagaming. I was just wondering if this is actually against the rules because it seems like a good strategy but idk 🤷‍♂️

If the Jailor exes a town for getting mad at the meta gaming and ignoring them, that’s on the Jailor

There was a huge debate over wether it should be bannable or not in tos 1 I forget what the conclusion was tho

I'd say it is metagaming

the feature of checking sillhouttes doesn't exist within the game itself, so it should be considered metagaming.

Imagine if Role Cards weren't readable within the game by other roles and a townie just made you quote every statement on your role card

I honestly count marshals who have predefined numbers or people who influence marshal to push specific numbers BEFORE a game starts to be borderline metagaming. Using out of game stuff, just no knowledge.

I had two games like this, same dude, one time was marshal, I was one of the numbers, different game, was someone else, got marshal to push me, different one of his favored numbers
