everyone will have 2 roles, their original role and a town role
during the day you can choose to swap to your alternate role, you will swap at the start of the night
alternate roles will still obey limits, so you can't have duplicate jailers for example, or a banned role, otherwise they can be any town role.
using a self revealing role will lock you in as that role, for example, a hexmaster prosecutor that prosecutes will be stuck as a prosecutor
town
: townies will have 2 town roles, they will count as both roles for the purposes of role guessing
evils
: they will have their original role and a random town role, they will count as their original role for the purposes of TI and role guessing (so a sheriff will find a coven member sus, even when they are their alternate role, a doomsayer/rit would have to guess you as your evil role)
if you would normally be hangmanned for an action, you won't (of course, this is a dead giveaway that you are evil) you will still know information that your evil role provides as your alternate roles (pb will see plague, ww can see where their scents go, etc)
