Dreamweaver (Coven Utility)

Attributes:
⚔️ Attack: None (Basic with Necronomicon)
🛡️ Defense: None

  • Can be roleblocked
  • Can be controlled
  • Unique

Abilties:

  • Select a player at night to Dreamweave, if that player is not visited the following night, they will be driven Insane.
  • When a target has been successfully driven Insane, the Dreamweaver will automatically gain 1 stack of Empower (maximum of 3), and the player will have their role feedback disabled.

Dreamweave (♾️)

  • Select a player at night to Dreamweave, if that player is not visited the following night, they will be driven Insane.
  • Visiting a player will delay Insanity by 1 night, meaning a dreamwoven player will need to be visited all game.
  • Dreamwoven players will never have Dreamweave or Insanity dispelled unless they are driven Insane or the Dreamweaver dies.
  • All evil roles are immune to Dreamweave, but Coven will only see that their target permanently has the Dreamweave icon.
  • Any player can delay Dreamweave.

Empower (Up to 3)

  • Select any member of the Coven to Empower, visiting astrally to increase their offence if they already can deal an attack. Their offence will be increased by one stage.
  • If the member of the Coven did not attack, this ability expends a charge and does nothing.

That's the thing I was thinking about I feel like the stuff like random night abilities and stuff kinda make or break the game

#

Because like an insane vigi rn can theoretically go 3/3

strange yew
#

I hate the rng of dw

#

And of most roles

hushed timber
#

What if insanity instead of the random stuff made players unable to receive feedback from their role

#

Also I think empower would have some interesting reactions with killing TT roles

#

No

#

RNG

hushed timber
#

Yes which is why I am taking suggestions

#

Hence "constantly reworking it"

#

Because if you didn't look a bit up I was also skeptical on it

hushed timber
#

I changed it to disabling role feedback, I didn't do altering role feedback because I assume it would be hard to program into the game since there are so many different random messages

tranquil mauve
#

Remove RNG and we’ll talk

hushed timber
#

It is gone

#

Look up

tranquil mauve
#

Can empower stack?

#

Like, you give two empowers to allow an unstoppable?

hushed timber
#

No it cannot stack, however if you add it to a Coven Leader yes but no other CK can get Unstoppable

#

Other than a CL, no Cov can get unstoppable

tranquil mauve
#

Then it’s exclusively a neutral fucker

#

When the mode we balance around has zero neutrals

hushed timber
#

Actually what if I replaced empower with Enrage which could allow a Cov to use their action twice

#

Hmmm but I'm not sure how it would work with coding unless it was a day ability

#

Honestly, I had quite the insane idea, but...not sure how it'd pan out.

hushed timber
#

What's your idea

Basically, Insanity (if it procs) will instead make the person allied to Coven instead of Town until either the Dreamweaver is dead, or they die. Makes people actually treat Dreamweaved people a LOT more seriously, and makes the Dreamweaver a WHOLE lot scarier. In return, it'll only probably have either a certain amount of charges, or will have a maximum number of people that are Insane.

I was thinking of that at one point but majority would shift easily if the proc was buffed and if you are talking about 1 visit writes it off, it'd still be too hard to get it off regardless (I think I've only ever seen like 10 insanity procs playing TOS2 Vanilla)

Fair enough, but messing with the alignments of it, ESPECIALLY if you have a Voodoo Master on your side, would make it absolutely bloody bonkers.

hushed timber
#

Yeah it would

#

But unfortunately stuff like getting a pop off dreamweave and voodoo N1 taking the Tpow you nearly just win

#

Just right off the bat
