Did you know that in Gen 4 the meta was entirely around Deoxys Speed. Due to it's insane 180 Base speed and access to great entry moves such as Stealth Rock and Taunt, and a Defense Stat that allows it to tank a hit or two, it makes so Deoxys becomes the single best lead pokemon in the game. It could just Stealth Rock, tank a hit, and mirror coat. or you could even use the Focus Sash to survive a Shadow Sneak or be able to survive an attack that would surely kill it in the turn it sets the Stealth rocks. This would give whoever is using the Deoxys Speed such a great advantage over the other player that the match would be decided solely if you succeeded with Deoxys or not, and the meta shifted around everyone leading with Deoxys Speed counters. Deoxys Speed could also work as an attacker instead, running signal beam or superpower to defeat it's main counters (Tyrannitar and Weavile) , Psycho boost and Extreme Speed, without needing to put all of your EVs on speed and focusing on Special Attack and Bulk, and using a Colbur berry to survive a Dark Type attack or even using Lum Berry to negate a Hypnosis Gengar that manages to land it. Due to that, the Gen4 Ubers Meta was incredibly terrible and annoying asf to play. (i still love Gen4 though)
