I get that you guys wanted to make Yeeps more beginner friendly with home, but basically all of that could be fixed while keeping the open world promise of 2.0's release, here's my idea:
1.Make it so the compass is free and new players start out with it, there should also be a feature on the compass where the lines have the name of the map it's leading to on them. When a new player loads into Gnome Capital it should also lead them to the techweb
2.Add back build central, it was iconic, just one tiny fix though: add the portal from 1.0's transition into 2.0, then you can have the classic map layout starting with starter house
3. Add back all of the minigames onto the 2.0 map, all with their respective game modes, that way people can have fun in both the gnome dimension and the yeep dimension
4. For maps that don't really fit onto either map, make it, add transitions from 2.0 into horror
5. Get rid of the weekly throwback, it's just a lazy way of bringing back old maps, instead, to avoid clutter, give the map a layering system, so maps that are deeper down can be deeper down on the map and you can go down into them, likewise, you can also go up for higher maps, or maybe add a museum map to teleport to old maps
6. Bring back numbered wilds, but give them options, like being able to choose the biome and if the ground is there or not, maybe even the size of the wilds, but make it cost beans to change it
If you make these 6 simple changes, you can steer around the portal slop and 2.0 can have a comeback
Also give the maps their original names, "snow race" sucks as a name
