The Problem:
As of right now, most, no, ALL of the featured community worlds are just slop maps that are used to gain money and visits. This has become a problem because community worlds, what used to be a fun and creative way of publishing your own creations, is now being used as a monopoly.
The Solution:
Currently, featured community worlds are selected through visits. This is the cause of the main problem because creators force people to repeatedly join their community worlds over and over again til it gets featured. This problem could be fixed by adding a new system, the Like System. This new feature would allow players to like or dislike community worlds. The dislikes are then subtracted from the likes to get one final number (ex: 10 likes - 5 dislikes = 5 likes). From that, community worlds would be selected by most liked, rather than most visited.
Secondary Solution:
Though this solution also creates another problem, the most liked community worlds would always be on featured. To fix this, the system would reset a community world’s likes and dislikes after being on featured, having that community world then need to gain the likes to become featured again. The displayed like and dislike count however would not be reset, still showing the total number of likes and dislikes the world received, with the newer ones just adding onto it.
Threcondary solution:
Again, another problem is popular people may try to get people to like their cws, keeping it on featured. This is a problem that can’t really be fixed so I think the best that could be done is a temporary ban or possible deletion of the cw.
How This Helps:
Through this, cw creators can’t force you to repeatedly join their worlds anymore since you can simply dislike it, bringing the rating down. This feature would most likely fix the problem since community worlds would be reliant on likes, rather than visits, allowing the actually good community worlds to rise back up to the featureds.
