# opal canopy “Brothers” (Sorry if it’s bad, this is my first time trying to make a good song)...
  1. Is the drum kit a sample or a loop you composed?
  2. Pick a scale and stick to it. Using a chromatic scale like you’re doing here is very… how do I put this
  3. Keep the tempo of your song instead of slowing it down and speeding it up a lot.
  4. Keep the velocity of the piano relatively the same, when it got louder in the end is kinda jarring
  5. The strings is completely out of place. Doesn’t make sense to me at all
#
  1. Keep the bass simple. You don’t want to distract from the melody with the bass

6: yeah for some reason I composed the bass last instead of first or second

It’s very bland. There’s not much to keep me hooked into listening to the song, the melody instrument plays like a bass (plus the instrumentation is just kinda annoying to listen to)

I see the lead drops for a second before the loop, that just feels very wrong

Compared to a song I made (this was the last song I ever made in GarageBand) I’ve included things to keep the track interesting to the ear as well as song sections and progressing even though it’s basically the same melody
