Blastoff Billy always wanted to go to space and I think he finally achieved that.
Blastoff Billy has been gone since the horror update so I think he was scared that the monsters would make it out of the levels so he packed up his confetti launchers and used them to build a new rocket. He then left gnome capital and the Yeeps planet setting up the SPACE UPDATE.

But then why is the rocket still there?

Well he’s obviously not big enough to fit in there is he?

Also I always assumed it was a toy

There’s also a very real chance he’s dead considering there’s a blue rocket in one of the horror levels

He is in horror 9 inside blue house closet, that's what I heard

What if the yeeps reality is slowly being engulfed by the monsters.

What if their slowing inching on each dimension poisoning it.

Making the universe shrink until it reaches a point of singularity similar to a blackhole

A collosally sized black hole.

And it ends up destroying more universe

But these monsters can control it

So the space.

Really is just an entrance to the monster realm

Thats why when he tried to "Escape" he actually disappeared into the horror levels

Horror, was the space update.

We just didn't realize it.
