Fire (as I have just realized today) doesn’t cast any light whatsoever! I know getting flashlights isn’t too hard, but it would be very cool if there were more things that are light sources. 
Since neither the match or the lighter have a direction they point, they would cast light all around. To keep flashlights relevant, this light would be much dimmer.
Along with this change, a lantern gadget would be a welcome addition to the desert tech web, which would do less in the form of fire, but cast more light around—as well as cost a lot more stuffing to pull out.
