When powered, the Spear Block will extend a spear super fast, the spear will extend out 4 blocks. The tip of the spear acts like a spike, but the pole acts like a regular block. This would allow you to make spikes that can be moved, letting you create new interesting obstacles. Either in facility or desert, definitely a 2x2 and 8x8 version as well because that would be way better for performance if you want a huge row of spears.
