Like the others in this thread said, unless you asked them to stop they haven't done anything wrong. Eating things for cotton in hide-and-seek is a viable and even encouraged strategy

• Lots of players take Hide & Seek fairly seriously, if you're just goofing off in a corner building a bouncy castle, they'll likely grief you purely to re-center your focus on the game. If you want to build I'd recommend doing it in a hangout lobby or wilds.
• Furthermore if people are griefing you can hold down the left menu button to connect to a different lobby, not every lobby has people like this, so you may get lucky.

Ya, maybe not literally hiding, but you get what I'm saying, people go to play the gamemode. Even during 1.0 people would be upset when others were just sitting and chatting in Blue House (Which is probably why game mode areas don't have shops in 2.0)

Personal favorite spots for hiding in campsite, is creating a fake-ceiling in one of the attics, hiding inside the hollow trees and blocking the exit with a painted pillow. Or just standing inside the leaves of one of the trees, people somehow never find me there.

yeah they never changed what appears in game for some reason, but once I opened a ticket on someone (this was months ago) because they had reported another player falsely. gomes then explained to me that they had recently decided to drop the punishments on false reporting, and that they would only take action if it was "mass false reporting"
