Yeah make sure there's absolutely zero overlap with grass, make sure there's no terrain gaps, first lay a base of 8x8 grass for the floor

Use 1x2x2 grass and 2x2x2 together to save blocks

Teaching how to build isn't really possible imo, I could tell you about my process of building, or I could share some tips, but building in itself is a skill you develop on your own

And others can't really influence it

Kinda like sorrow said, building in general is a very hard thing to teach, however the best piece of advice I can give you is to just try different building ideas and styles out. Some may not turn out the greatest, which is perfectly fine because you know what to improve on. Push yourself out of your comfort zone every now and again and you might find something your really good at building.
