So recently I have noticed how the banners (e.g Scavenger hunt, Live stream) when painted are tinted! So what if you did it for glass? I think it should be a new block though.
(The top one is regular white, the bottom one is painted dark gray)

I mean glass ain't transparent it's just invisible
