#Make BAMs more building based

I think recently a lot of the bam maps that do well are playability based and less of actually looking good.

I completely agree 💯

isnt that literally one of the points

dude

#

if it was based on only this bam then i'd agree with you

#

but i've heard from all of my friends that the playability on BaMs have sucked

#

on almost all BaMs

#

usually they're just some basic gamemode with like 1 extra feature which gets boring quick since you've definitely done that in ANY other map

# empty hill That’s…. The point..

The point is the have fun playability and good looks not just one, and I feel like finalist two only has playability with pretty much nothing to make it look good besides some slope blocks and very small details

I think that the past bams have had the exact opposite effect in my opinion

#

I feel like until the last bam, the past couple of the other builds were more “look at what I could build!” instead of actually having a good playability factor

That was a problem with past bams tho, they would win purely because of looks without having fun gameplay at all, I like it when I can actually play a map and not just look at it, however I do agree that some bams seem a bit lazy, but that’s not cause they are gameplay focused

My honest opinion, after playing all 3 BAM finalists

Finalist 1 is slightly boring as there are corners where you can AFK to win, however a good design

Finalist 2 can be built by anyone, however the gameplay is really good

Finalist 3 is really detailed, however I receive frame drops frequently on the map

I will be voting for Finalist 2, however it could be improved with more detail

i don’t pay attention to bam but

#

i’d much rather have a map that’s more fun to play even if it doesn’t look the best than the opposition

#

your map should be fun to play, not good looking

#

that’s what yeeps is about

#

look at any official map

#

none of them are that detailed but they’re all mostly fun to play

1/4 of the requirement for BAM is aesthetic-based, it’s always been about how fun someone can have in a map

#

there’s been map winners before that haven’t necessarily been the works of Michelangelo but they were still super fun

#

the last bam i remember that focused more on looking cool than being fun was the submerged ocean ruins thingy

#

i think it was 13?

#

i forget

I’d honestly prefer something that’s more fun but looks kind of bad than something that looks good but it’s really boring

i think this guy just wants to flex his maps a lil more tbh

#

but I think it’s really just a preference thing

#

it’s a good thing to realize that each bam judger has their own tastes too

Like would you prefer a game that looks amazing but sucks to play and is really boring or a game that looks okish but it is really enjoyable and fun to play.

he's asking for it to be based more on good looks nor solely on good looks

#

they shoulda made it more fun

#

like to play on

#

i don't look at the bams to be like "wow this looks cool" and then leave, i go to bams to have fun

#

which is why i disliked that one by peble

#

it wasn't fun to play on because it was entirely submerged although it had a ton of detail
