I get it, but, we could do it differently: like a leader board, no reward.
Most LRs think differently and don't care about bugs.

Like Fitz said in his post, it's what they're intended to do, and I think they should do their jobs.

Doing stuff differently doesn't really fix it, its technically still a reward, and it would be difficult to manage.

Plus, that might even make it so labrats are greedy, and try to work together even less (which major bugs usually require 2 people)

What if they just announced who found the bug and what the bug is with a bot so people don't do repeats, it's manageable, and there's as little as a reward as possible.
Or you could scrap telling people who found the bug and saying everything else.

No, it sounds untrue, but 90% people don't read any of sapphire or helper yeeps messages. Used to grind #🐛・report-bugs when it used to have a msg every 1-10 minutes

there were literally no lab reports for the actual update itself

for the most part, the games silky smooth

the lab rats get what the devs dont which is barely anything
