Yea but if you just throw the bat or use a bomb blocks just float on the floor till they despawn

Maybe it could suck up throwables! A firework thrown could be sucked in, forcing the player right into you needle, maybe suck in needles? Forcing players to be smart with when to throw needles and the angle to throw them at
