i think that since there are a lot of items just laying around, you shoud have a skill that will pick up all of a specific item in the world. You would select the skill, then click on the object you want, and all the objects in the world of that type(like maybe sticks would go in your inventory. It would only work on the ones that were on the ground, so no insta farming stuff like rocks from underground, but if you left something like a lot of animal poop on the ground. It would not be so time consuming to pick up...
It would be great for later on when you have a lot of resources...
