same with soldiers
They had this in the very first versions of the game but was removed because all they did was keep running away it became an issue since both sides would run away and they're was no fight/ deaths
I’d love to see the soldiers be able to attack the monsters from the other side of a wall, instead of running out because, in my experience, I send out three of them and they get dominated without help from the archers by 10 zombies
- greater armor for upgrades to the building
Could make it so that archer will always retreat to the next wall, until every wall on that side of the totem is broken and then they will stand their ground to defend the civilians.
there's an issue with that though, we don't want them to flee winnable battles, just keep thier distance
well they would only flee to the next wall or to the totem and stand their ground there. If its a situation where theres only one or two enemies left you could add a requirement that the total health of the enemies is greater thhan the total health of the defenders for the archers to flee
that could work, archers flee if there are too many, and no wall or soldiers, soldiers flee if there's too many and no walls
Soldiers should also flee when at low hp
individually or as a group?
that could be done bit more difficult then general behaviour for all soldiers, but something like when at 1/2, or what ever the cut off point is, the solider takes a step towards the shrine, that should cause the goblins to retarget the other soldiers and the injured one to rejoin with out getting hurt
Archers should stay behind walls and retreat to the next wall if monsters get too close. They will only stand their ground when all walls are broken, or if the enemies' health is less than the defenders'.
Warriors should also retreat when heavily outnumbered or when their health is low. Individual soldiers should retreat rather than the entire group to prevent unnecessary casualties.
Everyone agree on this?
Archers should still hold if there is Soldiers are infront of them
I don't want the Archers, that do most of the damage, to run away leaving the soldiers to stand hopelessly
true
here's something though, how do we want both to act around banners?
